UX Researcher

Kristen Althizer is a UX researcher at Blink who is naturally inquisitive and loves creative problem-solving. The thing that brings her the most joy in her work is an “Aha!” moment when interesting insights jump out from the data. She loves collaboration and learning from everyone around her including teammates, stakeholders, and most importantly, users.

Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a master’s degree in applied anthropology from CSU Long Beach where she received training in qualitative research methods and theory. While in school, she conducted an ethnography of a grassroots Cambodian cultural organization, an evaluation for a homeless services program for the City of Long Beach, and a study about the lives of Etsy sellers. Prior to Blink, Kristen worked for nearly four years as a researcher at a non-profit organization, Committee for Children, developing K-12 social-emotional learning programs. For most of her tenure, she worked on a product team that brought an innovative educator professional development program to market, which aimed to reduce educator stress and burnout. Providing a much-needed program to our hardworking and resilient educators is easily one of her proudest professional accomplishments.

Outside of Blink, Kristen enjoys snuggling with her big, orange kitty, getting lost in a novel, nurturing her ever-growing indoor plant collection, and knitting socks.
