Karen Clark Cole is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder of Blink UX. Karen is primarily focused on Blink's growth, strategic planning and culture.

Karen began her career studying Fine Arts in Vancouver, BC at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design. She holds a degree in Art History & Visual Arts from the University of Victoria and is a graduate of the Information Technology & Multimedia program from Capilano University, Vancouver. Karen also started a Ph.D. program in Values-Driven Leadership at the Benedictine University in 2015.

Through her work at Blink, Karen was a winner of the 2016 Enterprising Women of the Yearaward and she was a finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award in 2015. In 2016, Blink was listed on Forbes Magazine's Best 25 Small Companies in America list and has won the Puget Sound Business Journal's Washington's Fastest-Growing Private Companies award in 2015 and 2012, Seattle Business Magazine's Tech Impact Silver Award in 2015, The Women President's Organization's 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Led Companies Worldwide award in 2014, and was listed on Inc. Magazine's Top 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies in America list in 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012.

Karen is an active member and speaker for the International Leadership Association (ILA)(ILA), an active member in the Small Giants Community, and a board member for the World Trade Center. Karen is currently the Executive Director and President of the Board for the non-profit organization she founded in early 2014, Girls Can Do. Girls Can Do is an event series for girls with the mission to inspire a generation of Possibility Thinkers and ignite a vision for Equal Opportunity.

Karen currently writes a column for Forbes.com on the Entrepreneurs Channel and has been written about in Inc. Magazine, Puget Sound Business Journal, Geekwire Magazine, Seattle Business Magazine, Center for Values-Driven Leadership, St. Margaret's School, Chapter Be, LTD Daily, and The Pacific Institute.

Karen was born and raised in Victoria, Canada, and she loves to ski, run, garden, kiteboard, and hang out with her amazing daughter.

Kelly is the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) and Co-Founder of Blink UX. He focuses on the future of Blink’s tools, services, and methods while also working on unique project requirements. He is passionate about making our daily interactions with technology more innovative, intuitive, and rewarding.

While growing Blink from two to over sixty employees, he has worked with hundreds of clients, from tech-sector heavy hitters like Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, to startups, and non-profits. He enjoys working on cutting edge projects in the data visualization, healthcare, and the IT spaces. He feels lucky to have contributed to some of the largest and most successful product launches in history

Always eager to share his passion for design and technology with others, he volunteers his time as an instructor and external advisor for programs at Lake Washington Institute of Technology and the University of Washington. His work has been recognized with a number of awards including several IDSA IDEA awards for design excellence, and he has spoken on the topic of UX at the University of Washington, Convey UX and the Project Management Institute to name a few. In 2011, he was featured as “Geek of the Week” from Geek Wire Magazine.

Peter Stern is a UX director focused on design. He has spent the past 17 years designing experiences across a variety of industries from software and platform development to entertainment. His previous clients include Microsoft, Amazon, Intel, MTV, Jimmy Buffett, and Steven Spielberg. As a design director at Microsoft, he gained a deep appreciation for a customer-centric approach to designing experiences for a diverse, global audience. His specialties include UX strategy, design management, end-to-end user experience, and product innovation.

Peter is a former faculty member of the Advanced Technology Department for The American Film Institute (AFI) in Hollywood, CA and was one of the first digital video instructors at Art Center in Pasadena, CA.

When he's not at work Peter likes welding, boat building, carpentry, and spending time with his wife and three girls... preferably on the water. He makes a mean margarita and his favorite color is #f7941d.

Bill Flora is an award-winning design director and strategist with more than 20 years of experience in leading teams and shipping product. During his two decades with Microsoft, he led design efforts for Xbox, Windows Media Center, Zune, and Encarta, and he was the design force behind Microsoft’s “Metro” design language. Flora’s influences can be found in the design of software that lights up millions of screens around the globe every day.

Before joining forces with Blink, Bill founded Tectonic, a strategic experience design firm, where he worked with the world’s leading companies envisioning next-generation content platforms and expressing brand through software. Clients included HBO, Microsoft, Bang & Olufsen, Amazon, Beats by Dre, Cisco, Samsung, and NBC.

When Bill isn’t designing the future, you can find him trying to plan another trip to Iceland with his family, waxing his skis, or learning a new chord on his banjo.

Byron Baker

Byron Baker is a UX director with 15 years of experience consulting in the areas of design, user experience, research, and product development. He has consulted for American Express, Abbott Laboratories, Eli Lilly, Microsoft, BAE Systems, FedEx, Fujitsu, Danaher, Chevron, and others.

He has presented at several conferences on the benefits of UX design and research and was a guest lecturer and part-time faculty member at the iSchool department at the University of Washington. He holds a BFA, with a focus on photography and visual communication, from the University of Washington.

Byron is a self-acknowledged adrenaline junkie and is raising two more in his likeness. When not holding down his desk chair, he can be found running, jumping, spinning, and flipping in the snow, water, and streets surrounding Seattle.

Lauren Martin is a director of client relations and partner at Blink. With over a decade of business management, marketing, and sales experience, she has a deep understanding of how to craft successful engagements with clients. She can often be found onsite with clients brainstorming their next project together.

She attended Georgia Southern University before moving to Seattle in 2003 and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington. Lauren is a member of the Innovators Network at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, which aims to saves lives faster by funding innovative, early-stage research at Fred Hutch.

Lauren has an amazing husband, two sons that keep her on her toes, loves collecting old books, and has a weakness for home-cooked Southern food.

Donna Glosser

Head of Qualitative Recruiting

As director of Insight Space and a partner of Blink, Donna Glosser has led the qualitative recruiting division of Blink since 2013. She is well-versed in managing a variety of qualitative methods: focus groups, ethnographic studies, taste tests, in-depth interviewing, online research, and product placement. She has over 30 years of experience in operations and sales in the marketing research industry.

Donna is very active in the research community having held board positions for both the Marketing Research Association as well as Puget Sound Research Forum.

One of her proudest accomplishments in recent years has been hosting international college students. Her favorite aspects of hosting include helping the students improve their English, learning about their cultures and foods, introducing them to Seattle, and forming lifelong relationships. You can usually find Donna at her gym by 5:30 a.m. each weekday morning to start her day off right.

Tom Satwicz is a research director and partner at Blink. He has been researching interaction and technology use in homes, schools, workplaces, and beyond since the year 2000. Tom’s research experience spans understanding how people use consumer devices, websites, and apps to the usability of server software.

In 2006, he graduated from the Ph.D. program in Learning Sciences at the University of Washington and was previously a faculty member in the University of Georgia’s College of Education. There he conducted ethnographic studies of how young people learn to use digital media and how technology is integrated into educational settings.

Geoff Harrison

Chief Design Officer

Geoff Harrison is a partner and the chief design officer at Blink. He has been instrumental in building a full-service user-centered design practice at Blink, uniting the firm’s research expertise with innovative design, prototyping, and development. This work relies on evidence-driven design strategies to help Blink’s combined teams create more desirable and useful products for our clients. He created a workshop on evidence-driven design, which he delivered at UX Week and Convey UX, and has also been a guest lecturer for the University of Washington’s Human Centered Design and Engineering program.

Prior to Blink, Geoff founded Eye Level, a design studio, and was the creative director at Modern Digital Seattle. He holds bachelor’s degrees in graphic design and mass media management from Miami University in Ohio and a graduate certificate in user-centered design from the University of Washington.

When not at work, he designs rockets, Lego forts, and scavenger hunts with his three boys and takes them skiing, hiking, or anything else that burns energy. He also enjoys cooking and finding great places to eat with his wife.

John Dirks has been a UX research manager and user researcher for over 20 years. Joining Blink shortly after it was founded in 2000, John has been instrumental in growing the company's research practice to the highly capable team it is today. John has specialized in complex research engagements over the years, including multiphase field studies involving consumer electronics, auto technology, and, more recently, VR/AR systems. He has served as a consultant for a diverse set of clients, including Microsoft, the Allen Institute for Brain Science, Nike, HP, Amazon, Starbucks, the Seattle Seahawks, Arc'teryx, and F5 Networks. John has managed numerous international research studies, through which he has developed partnerships with top UX research firms in other countries.

As the head of UX research, John is excited about expanding Blink's research practice to other Blink office locations. He sees boundless opportunities to empower organizations with foundational and evaluative research insights so they can make better, evidence-based decisions about their products and services.

John earned a Master of Science from the University of Washington and a graduate certificate in human-centered design. When not at work, John enjoys reading, playing saxophone in a big band, and embarking on outdoor activities and adventures with his wife and two daughters.

Heidi Adkisson is a Blink partner and principal UX designer. She has been leading complex projects since Blink's inception, delivering strategy and design for hundreds of clients, including ISB, Garden City Group, NASA, Moen, and Providence.

Heidi has over 20 years of software development experience working with large-scale system implementations. Her experience includes requirements analysis and interactive design, working with established companies, such as AT&T Wireless and Microsoft.

Heidi has a Masters in Human Centered Design and Engineering and an MBA from the University of Washington. She has a B.A. in Anthropology from Colorado State University and an Associate of Applied Arts in Web/Multimedia Design from the Art Institute of Seattle. Heidi is a member of ACM SIGCHI and Puget Sound SIGCHI.

Dan Pepper works with our design teams and clients to craft engagements that solve complex problems with inspired design. He’s also responsible for positioning Blink’s services in ways that connect our core capabilities with new market opportunities.

His career spans over 30 years in creative service entrepreneurship. Most recently, he was a partner at Tectonic, where he led client engagement and managed business and finance. Dan has also owned a broadcast post-production studio and launched digital media sites, including legalforms.com, stockphotography.com, stockfootage.com, and soundeffects.com.

Dan lives in Seattle with his wife and two sons. When he's not at his boys’ soccer games, you’ll find him in the San Juan Islands hiking and fishing, restoring vintage cars, entertaining friends, or exploring roads less traveled.

As CFO and Partner of the company, Randy oversees Blink’s finances and administration. He is in charge of the overall health and viability of the company, ensuring log term sustainability and profitability.

Randy has more than 30 years of accounting and finance experience, including 14 years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and later serving as the Chief Financial Officer of several public and private companies, including CellCyte Genetics Corporation and Ascentium Corporation. At Ascentium, Randy was a key member of its management team from its inception in 2001 through its dramatic growth period ending in 2008. Randy left Ascentium in 2008 to start an accounting consulting firm working with start-up technology companies.

Randy has a BS degree in accounting from Central Washington University and became a CPA in 1987. He is the treasurer of FEAT of Washington and is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Seattle Youth Bowling Association. He spends his free time coaching youth bowling and driving his daughters to local youth bowling tournaments.

Anne Vande Creek is a seasoned and accomplished leader in client services, business development, and strategy in design services across industry verticals. Anne has over 20 years of experience in creative and strategic design organizations supporting the technology industry and leading consumer brands. She is recognized for her leadership across a broad range of disciplines and for her success in determining strategies, teams, and approaches to account management.

Most recently, Anne has been involved in digital transformation, developing approaches and processes for the reimagining of complex systems, applications, and customer and user experiences in all phases of the product lifecycle for healthcare, finance, technology, retail, IoT, AR/VR, and emerging technologies.

Anne’s areas of expertise include business development; client and account services; strategic planning; process and approach development; user research; UX framework, design systems, and design management; complex systems design strategy; and new product design and development.

Annie Pardo

Annie Pardo joins Blink as studio manager. She coordinates administrative duties and office procedures to ensure a high level of organizational effectiveness and communication; helps improve day-to-day office operations; and plans a steady stream of community events and company celebrations.

Annie graduated with a B.A. in English literature and communications from Florida State University. She spent three years exploring Arizona before moving to Washington state in 2008. In Seattle, she has worked in tourism for Visit Seattle, assisted with partnerships for Live Nation, and coordinated events for Alaska Airlines.

Much of her free time is spent exploring the shores of Lake Washington with her 2-year-old son and their big, brown mutt. She'd say that a good weekend looks like a day hike, a ferry ride, and the long way home.

As creative director at Blink’s Boston office, Benjamin Shown leads envisioning projects wrestling with topics such as brand expressed as software, ephemeral media, and dynamic typographic systems.

Ben joined Blink in 2018 as part of an acquisition of Tectonic, an experience design studio, where Ben was a creative director for four years. Previously, he worked on future design concepts at Microsoft’s Envisioning Lab and as an exhibit designer at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle.

Ben loves collaboration, heady problems, Murphy beds, grids, typography, unity, and variety. He is an alum of UW’s visual communication design graduate program and currently lives in Somerville, Massachusetts, with his wife and 3-year-old son, Percy.

Bob MacSweeney is the Chief Operations Officer at Blink. He is a leader in the organization, optimizing delivery processes and planning for Blink's growth. Bob is a seasoned executive with extensive experience building and leading cross-functional teams engaged in web, software and digital product development. Bob focuses on structuring business environments to give creative thinkers the room required to do their best work.

Prior to joining Blink, Bob was in charge of production and operations at Eveo, a full-service interactive agency, focused on the healthcare and biotechnology industries. At Eveo, he was a key driver in its long-term growth, success and eventual acquisition. Prior to Eveo, Bob worked for a series of technical publishing houses and information service product companies.

Outside of work, Bob likes to ski, snowboard, fish, and read. He is currently engaged in a long-term self-improvement program to turn himself into a musician.

He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Brent leads our team of front-end developers. In this role, he helps our developers do their best work by collaborating with them to identify priorities, define strategies, and anticipate obstacles.

Before working at Blink, Brent spent seven years at International Speedway Corporation (ISC), where he contributed to IT projects that unlocked new revenue opportunities and drove organizational efficiency. Since moving to San Diego in 2011, he has led digital projects for clients in many sectors, including SaaS B2B SaaS, travel and tourism, and education. His work has been recognized by CommArts, HubSpot, Mashable, and Forbes.

Friday night is date night for him and his husband. On the weekends, Brent teaches his goldendoodle, Midas, new tricks. ENFJ.

Brett Campbell

Brett Campbell is the head of client relations for Blink. He’s responsible for building the business through strategic client relationships.

With 18 years of consulting experience with global companies, Brett has developed a focus on solutions to help clients build trusting, authentic relationships with their customers. Brett is typically accountable for seeing those programs through to completion, measuring the business impact, and providing continued justification for investments in customer experience improvements.

Brett’s experience spans various business initiatives, including customer and user experience, product planning and execution, business information management and analytics, organizational transformation, social collaboration, and various technology platforms.

Brett's approach to business fosters innovation and experimentation. His focus on listening and collaboration helps him build long-lasting, trusted relationships with clients, such as those with Ford, Amway, Humana, and Microsoft. His attitude is easily described as "Let’s make it happen!"

In Brett’s downtime, he enjoys time with his wife, Bambi, and two kids, Colby and Casey. You can also frequently find him out on Puget Sound fishing.

Brian Finck is a creative front-end “websmith.” He cares deeply about the end user and loves to innovate. Brian has a background in e-commerce development, as well as in art and photography, and he loves to combine these two skill sets.

Prior to working at Blink, Brian spent two years as a web developer at Zumiez. He attended the Front-End Development Accelerator course at Code Fellows and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Brooks Institute of Photography.

Outside of Blink, Brian enjoys life with his wife and daughter, hiking, brewing beer, and building a landscape photography portfolio.

Brian Ledford is a project manager at Blink, ensuring our projects stay on track and succeed. With extensive organizational and practical business experience, Brian is adept at delivering large- and small-scale software projects on time, with quality.

Brian joined Blink in 2018, following program management roles at Tectonic and Microsoft, where he worked on various Xbox projects. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time in Port Townsend and listening to music.

Brian O’Shea is an interaction designer at Blink and delivers ongoing, top-notch design and research work for clients such as MasterCard, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Microsoft, and Moen.

With a lifelong obsession for maps and architectural photography, Brian loves connecting visuals to space (both physical and digital) and understanding how they relate to the human experience. Prior to joining Blink, Brian spent over a decade at both startups and enterprise B2B organizations helping create back-end platforms and processes that empower both literal and tangential exploration. From building communities that mix art, technology, and language while leading content and technical teams at Veer and Corbis to co-founding a startup focused on real-time visual collaboration on construction sites, Brian brings a broad skill set to his work as a UX and interaction designer, including product management, photography and video editing, and geographic analysis.

Brian is active in the Seattle UX and IA communities. For example, he has mentored design students from General Assembly and spoken on UX and startup topics. In addition, with collaborators from The Wonderment and Civilization, he helped to develop and run a design thinking and ideation workshop that has had hundreds of participants — including sessions at the Seattle Interactive Conference, General Assembly, and SXSW EDU.

Outside of work, Brian loves getting offline into the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest and finding the best soundtrack for road trips. He is currently researching where to go for his next international trek.

Brigitt Rains is a highly skilled and outgoing head of operations with more than 17 years of experience in a range of industries. Brigitt’s work features a wide selection of project experience, from web, mobile, graphic, game design, and development to custom SharePoint applications, video, and print production. Clients include Disney, Nickelodeon, Fremantle Media, MTV, WB, Viacom, and CBC, along with Mattel, Fisher-Price, Microsoft, Xbox, and the Clinton Foundation. She has spoken on the topic of UX and project management at the Hive design and technology conference.

Project wrangler by day, musician by night, she’s usually preparing for her next gig at the local honky-tonk juke joint. She’s also fanatic about vintage motorcycles and snowboarding. In her spare time, you’ll find her at the monthly motorcycle rallies or high on top of the mountain searching for her next steepest or deepest adventure.

Celeste Buccino believes in not only thinking outside the box but also staying ahead of it. As a project manager, she uses her exceptional interpersonal and organizational skill set while working with internal staff and clients to successfully manage projects from onset to completion, maintaining budgets, coordinating recruitment, overseeing scheduling, and identifying potential issues to provide positive resolutions.

Celeste began her career at Northwest Insights as the host and facility coordinator, providing the utmost in hospitality and care. She was then promoted to NWI project manager and later became a project manager at Blink. She has a degree in merchandise marketing and is fascinated by research and how to make technology more human.

As a US Navy air traffic control veteran, Celeste is drawn to aviation and travel and has a lengthy list of countries she’d like to visit. She’s a practicing yogi and has a degree in martial arts, so she enjoys any type of energy-filled activity, including kayaking, hiking, and dancing. Celeste is also a meteorology geek and has been known to volunteer the names of cloud formations or the local forecasts to anyone who’ll listen!

As an interaction designer, Claudia Haon strives to understand how people interact with technology and designs experiences that make these interactions more meaningful, joyful, and productive. She loves to work with clients to define business and user goals and to determine how to best achieve them. She is enthralled by user-centered design because it melds her love of psychology with her drive to solve problems.

Claudia has over 15 years of design experience working with clients in a wide variety of sectors, including manufacturing, technology development, music production, and finance. She has a B.A. in psychology and postgraduate certificates in both graphic design and user experience design.

When not at work, Claudia is most likely thinking about food or eating, singing, or doing something fun out in the mountains or on a lake.

Damon Vessem is an interaction designer and has 15-plus years of experience in design and usability. Before moving to the US in December 2005, he was an interaction designer for a user experience consultancy in the Netherlands, working for clients such as ING, Vedior Europe, Delta Lloyd Insurance, KPN Telecom, @Home Internet, and the Rotterdam port authorities. In Seattle, he helped Alaska Airlines improve conversion and loyalty on alaskaair.com, including the acclaimed Award Finder.

Damon has a Masters degree in Industrial Design, with a specialization in User Interface Design, from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He also is a member of the Puget Sound SigChi.

Darshana Tuladhar

Darshana Tuladhar is a User Researcher with a curiosity about human behavior and cognition. This led her to pursue a graduate degree in Human Behavioral Neuroscience from Cornell University, and one in Cognitive Psychology from University of Pittsburgh. During her academic training, she studied individuals with Autism and memory formation and learning within individuals with Parkinson’s disease. She was fascinated by how and why children with Autism interacted with technology. This inspired her to marry her interests in human behavior in an applied setting and pursue a career in usability testing and research.

In 2015, Darshana spoke on the subject of ASMR at SxSW Interactive and is currently studying the way humans interact with artificial intelligence using a lifelike robotic dinosaur.

Other interests besides human behavior, the brain, and human-computer interactions include partaking in Taco Tuesdays, root beer, birds, salsa dancing, trying to play the violin, and origami.

Emilie Harris

Emilie Harris is a front-end developer with a passion for customers and building friendly web interfaces. Her background as an account manager and her education in art have given her a unique perspective for solving problems as a developer and a deep appreciation for a customer-centric approach and user empathy.

Her specialties include ensuring cross-browser/device compatibility, responsive web design, implementing interactive interfaces, the design of application architecture, and developing single-page applications.

Prior to Blink, Emilie worked on e-commerce sites and internal tooling for Bargreen Ellingson and Brooks Running. She attended General Assembly’s Web Development Immersive course and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Portland State University.

When not working on things for the web, Emilie works on mixed-media art projects; experiments combining tech and art; and hangs out with her husband, cat, and dog.

Eric Durr is a visual designer and has spent the last 10 years sharpening his skills in interaction, information, and visual design. He has done work for a variety of clients, including Amazon, Mastercard, NASA, Nike, Cisco, United Way, and Moen. His breadth of work includes mobile apps, desktop software, branding, infographics and B2C marketing. Eric graduated from Antonelli College in Cincinnati and also studied at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle.

Eric spent two years abroad traveling through Asia and Australasia with his wife and has no lack of stories or photos to share. Outside of the office, you will find Eric spending time with his son and cycling the city enjoying the bounty of wonderful microbrews in and around Seattle.

Eric Gomez is a UX developer in the Blink San Diego studio. He is a UX designer and front-end developer who enjoys being a bridge between two crucial parts of product development. Eric is at home creating wireframes and prototypes as he is debugging front-end code or creating his own CSS frameworks.

Prior to joining Blink, Eric was a UX developer in various industries, including three years spent building digital products for the state of Colorado.

When not in the office, Eric is enjoying life with his wife and two young boys, creating experimental electronic music, mountain biking, perfecting his pour-over coffee technique, and trying new craft beer.

Gargi Patel is a project manager at Insight Space, where she oversees the recruitment of participants for multiple research studies. She has over 10 years of experience supporting various arts, media, education, and small-business organizations and has a great passion for knowledge, quality work, and helping others succeed. She holds a B.S. in recording industry management and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University, where she first developed an interest in market research.

Originally from Arkansas, Gargi is proud to now call Seattle home. She spends time involved in the city’s vibrant music community, serves as club secretary for her local Toastmasters group, and enjoys exploring Seattle’s unique neighborhoods and gorgeous city parks.

Gio Segovia-Chapa is an accomplished and outgoing program manager in the Blink Austin studio. She is dedicated to building trusting partnerships with clients and fellow Blink team members. She is proactive in making sure everything goes smoothly with a high-quality output for all client engagements.

For the past 20 years, Gio has been in IT consulting services and has focused on helping teams improve performance by aligning business & IT processes with critical business strategies across a range of industries. Gio is an articulate champion for effectively bridging the gap between the client's business, user experience and development teams throughout the entire project life-cycle. Gio has developed extensive experience in leading large onshore/nearshore/offshore teams and delivering with several methodologies and framework types such as Waterfall and Agile/Scrum.

Gio’s experience spans various continuums, including delivery management, product management, user experience, business analysis, and professional scrum master & product owner.

Gio is a Californian-Texan, know to use “hella” and “y’all” in the same sentence. She loves Flamenco and all other forms of dance. During Gio’s downtime, she enjoys spending time with her husband & best-friend, George, and their adorable “furry child”, Pia.

Greg Hansen is a user researcher who specializes in complex research projects for clients such as Nike, Starbucks, and Moen.

Greg previously worked as a television assistant editor, most notably on A&E’s “Hoarders,” and he does video work from time to time for Blink. He received his B.A. from Whitman College, where he majored in art and minored in Japanese. Greg also holds a master’s degree from the University of Washington's Human Centered Design and Engineering department.

Holly Prouty is a user researcher and multifaceted creative who believes that disruptive ideas are the product of unique connections powered by inquiry. She works to reveal creative opportunities by breaking down silos among industries, functions, and skill sets.

Prior to joining Blink, Holly was bundled up in the Midwest. Her studies at the University of Michigan led her to a career at the intersection of humanity, design, and business. Holly leverages an industrial design background to bridge the gap between physical and digital experiences. She has led research projects resulting in the development of consumer and commercial products spanning industry segments from home goods to consumer electronics, medical devices, and industrial equipment.

Holly is a doodler and a dabbler who spends her time searching for whimsies, good Brussels sprouts, and board game opponents. She goes the extra mile(s) to reach the best view, and when she gets there, she revels in it and then tries to capture it. If you have figured out how to photograph the magic of the moon, she encourages you to drop her a line.

Irene Barber leads complex, workflow-driven interaction design projects and brings over a decade of professional design experience to our Interaction Design team. She discovered her passion for the user-centered design process while working as a graphic designer and has pursued UX consulting work ever since. UX fulfills her inquisitive nature by allowing her to learn about, and help solve problems for, a variety of industries and environments, as well as the diverse people within them. She holds a B.S. in informatics from the University of Washington where her capstone team was a semi-finalist in the Washington Health Alliance’s “Be the Change” competition. She continues to be interested in how technology can influence and facilitate social change.

Irene was born and raised here in the Pacific Northwest, and she enjoys taking day trips out into all it has to offer. A UXer by day and musician by night, you can catch Irene performing out in the local music scene with one of her musical projects.

As a UX designer at Blink, Jake Lunde solves problems through design, from systems to products, and everything in between. He loves the opportunity to understand new and complex problems to create seamless experiences for all kinds of users. From information architecture to full-fidelity prototypes, he enjoys diagramming, designing, and animating to tell the whole story on any given project.

Jake has his BFA in graphic design from Central Washington University, after pursuing an education in film and video. He has spent his time since working on digital and physical products, animations, and experiences of all kinds working with brands such as KEXP, Skype, Vans, Amazon, and Microsoft Azure, Office, & Education.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Jake spends his days biking through Seattle with his toy poodle, Louie, brewing strong coffee, baking for his friends and family, or jet-setting with his wife.

As a project manager at Insight Space, Janet McDonald has over 25 years of experience in the market research industry. Her background includes project management for a variety of qualitative methods (focus groups, usability testing, taste tests, one-on-one interviews, ethnography studies, and product placements), as well as managing quantitative studies.

Prior to her project management role, Janet worked as a data collection manager, managing a phone center, coders, and data entry personnel.

One of Janet’s lifelong passions started with a trip to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in high school, and since then, she has seen numerous productions in many of Seattle’s theater companies.

Jason Holland is a project manager in the Blink San Diego office. He is passionate about working with customers to deliver a product and experience of which all contributors can be proud.

Prior to joining Blink, Jason worked in digital rights management, managing the implementation of video encryption software used by international content distributors and cable providers.

Outside of Blink, Jason enjoys socializing over craft beer, bringing out his competitive spirit over a card or board game, and watching movies — classics are his personal favorites.

Joe Welinske is an accessible design leader at Blink and also contributes as a content strategist. Additionally, he is the program manager for Blink’s annual Seattle user experience conference, ConveyUX.

Joe has been involved in software development since 1984. He specializes in the areas of content strategy, user assistance, and accessible design. In addition to design and development for clients, he teaches at the University of Washington, UCSC Silicon Valley, and Bellevue College. Joe holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.S. in adult instructional management from Loyola University.

With his passions for interaction design and cognitive psychology, Jonathan Evans builds connections between user research and user-centered design (UCD). This includes UCD and research focused on children.

At Ignite Seattle, Jonathan spoke about how UX principles do not apply to children and continues to be active in the field. He has also written articles for UX Matters on How to Balance Design Guidelines for Children and Discovering Efficiencies in the Processing of Government Forms.

Prior to joining Blink in 2012, Jonathan worked on projects for diverse organizations, including Autodesk, Classmates.com, the FBI, and the University of Virginia. While at UVA, Jonathan received a Master of Science in systems and information engineering, with a focus on human factors. His thesis was a passion project that explored the removal of errors in audiobook recordings created for blind and dyslexic people, mostly children. He received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Swarthmore College.

When not at work, Jonathan can be found goofing around with his wife, being pounced on by his two daughters, and being walked by his pup.

As an interaction designer, Jordan Baker is addicted to problem-solving. She has always been driven by a desire to understand the world down to the minutia. Growing up she had her mind set on a hundred different professions, but she found her passion in design.

Throughout her career, she has worked for The Northwest Organization for Animal Help, Fluke and REI. Jordan loves to explore the different facets of design, which has resulted in her diverse assortment of work that spans print, web, mobile and motion graphics. She graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and from the Digital Design program at

Vancouver Film School with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Digital Design with a focus on user experience design.

When her head is not down solving design problems, Jordan can be found supporting Seattle sports teams, playing outside or enjoying the local food scene.

Over his 16-year career, Jorge has continually pushed himself to learn new industries and techniques. He began his career as a graphic designer in the motorsports industry and eventually shifted into a role as a product designer for high-tech bags and other gear for motorcycle enthusiasts. In 2009 Jorge made a strategic decision to learn UX and digital design. He has experience designing with a variety of CMS and eCommerce platforms.

Born and raised in the beautiful countryside of eastern Missouri, his love for design is matched only by the feeling he gets after watching nine innings of St. Louis Cardinal baseball on a hot summer afternoon with his dad. In addition to baseball, he loves sharing adventures with his son and wife, attempting to fly fish, and discovering Washington.

She has a background in Human-Computer Interaction from Rochester Institute of Technology and worked for several years as a user researcher at Zappos.com, where she became passionate about evangelizing user research stories in an actionable and memorable way.

Katie loves challenging herself and trying new hobbies. Currently, she’s into paint-by-numbers, wood carving and bouldering…maybe she’ll get into paddle boarding soon. At Blink, Katy Taylor keeps projects, timelines, and budgets on the rails. For over 15 years, she has perfected her account management craft in the digital agency world and was responsible for all aspects of client management and project planning, from day-to-day client interactions to project strategy to budgeting and timelines.

She has managed site designs, campaign development, and execution, as well as animation and live-action video development for clients including Microsoft, Windstar Cruises, BareMinerals, Shimano, T-Mobile, PBS, and Samsonite.

Outside of work, you can find her hiking the PNW trails with her dog, traveling the world to find her favorite wine, or trying a new sport — she blames Groupon for a stint in trapeze.

Ken King is the head of project management at Blink. He is responsible for building process and consistency in our approach to client projects and works with our project managers to ensure we’re always delivering our best.

Ken brings over 15 years of experience to the role, working in creative agencies and in-house teams on projects for clients including Nordstrom, T-Mobile, Amazon, Intel, Google. Ken comes to Blink from Teague, where he led and developed a team of project managers as they worked on a broad range of multi-disciplinary projects for clients around the globe.

Outside of work, Ken enjoys being outdoors, skiing, hiking or playing in the waves with his wife and two boys. He loves ink on paper and spends his indoor time in his garage-turned-print studio, screen printing posters or playing with a vintage letterpress.

A southern California native, Kevin graduated from Vanguard University with a B.A. in Psychology. After college, Kevin worked as a behavioral consultant with Autism Intervention and Resources. Kevin moved into the UX field because loves helping people solve their problems.

His hobbies include photography and fatherhood. Kevin enjoys the outdoors and can often be found exploring hiking trails around San Diego on the weekend with his family.

Kristina Knaus is the Director of HR, Diversity, and Inclusion at Blink. She spends her day wearing several hats including employee development and training, recruiting, diversity and inclusion, and benefits administration. Kristina is a graduate from the University of Missouri where she studied strategic communications and Business. After university, she spent time volunteering in Kenya and backpacking around the globe. She attributes her ability to empathize and connect with people of all backgrounds to this time spent abroad.

In her spare time, Kristina writes for Rain or Shine Guides, a local travel website, and can usually be found reading, planning her next trip, or eating at one of the many incredible restaurants Seattle has to offer.

Kristy Sharkey is an interaction designer who has over a decade of experience delivering thoughtful digital solutions to a broad spectrum of users, clients, devices, and platforms.

She has worked on some neat projects in a variety of sectors including aerospace, education, food & beverage, e-commerce, telecom, and utilities. She loves helping clients reach their business goals using research and user-centered design. She was a mechanical engineer in her past life but hasn't looked back since transitioning to UX. She’s completed a number of courses in UCD and visual design and is always looking for ways to learn more.

When not at work she enjoys hanging out with her husband and dog. She's a proud member of the Cloud Appreciation Society, a science nerd, and an aspiring weather and nature photographer. Her first storm-chasing workshop is booked for 2019.

As design director, Laura Blanchard is instrumental in defining product and design strategy for complex product ecosystems. This is Laura’s second time around as a Blinker. Her clients included NASA, Amazon, Moen, Intel, and Providence Health and Services.

Laura’s career spans almost 30 years across photography, radio, printed publication, product development, and user experience design. Laura specializes in getting high-quality interactive experiences designed and out the door while keeping teams energized and having fun. She is passionate about every project she delivers and is always up for a challenge.

Laura’s early career in Chicago was characterized by training corporate executives to use the computer by day and pioneering new forms of digital media for the underground music scene by night. When not working, Laura enjoys keeping up with pop culture, eating and making delicious food, and going on adventures with her family.

Laura Dunn is a UX researcher in the San Diego office. She loves getting involved early in the design process to help teams identify unexpressed needs that can me met through innovation.

Prior to joining Blink, Laura worked at Dexcom for 7 years where she played a crucial role in designing and validating the Dexcom G5 Mobile system, the first medical device app, and honed her skills as a researcher. Before that, she received dual degrees in Psychology and Spanish from UNC-Chapel Hill. Go Tar Heels!

Outside of Blink, Laura enjoys spending time in beautiful San Diego with her husband, son, and two fur babies. She is also a passionate trail runner and has competed in several ultramarathons. When she’s not at work you can find her exploring San Diego’s expansive trail network to prepare for upcoming races.

Lauren holds a master's degree in interaction design from Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden and a bachelor degree in Industrial Design from Carleton University in Canada. Before Blink, her professional endeavors included conceptualizing new products for the future of productivity, developing the creation framework for an interactive storytelling experience, and designing installations for a new science center.

Lauren is addicted to learning new things in all areas of her life from tools and techniques to improve her efficiency, to outdoor adventure sports and urban farming.

Leili Slutz is a user researcher passionate about the interplay between people, information, and technology. She has worked as a researcher on projects spanning enterprise software, public libraries and open data, and the role of primary care physicians in genomic medicine. Leili loves exploring the many different worlds that research brings her into.

Leili holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington’s iSchool, as well as a Graduate Certificate in User Centered Design from the UW’s Human Centered Design and Engineering program.

On weekends you can find Leili curled up with a good book, out on a trail in the beautiful PNW, or volunteering with Open Seattle on a civic technology project.

She attended the Front-end UX Design and Development Accelerator program at Code Fellows in Seattle, WA and holds a Master of Communication in Digital Media from the University of Washington.

Linda Wagener, Blink’s Chief Culture Officer, has over 35 years of experience in organizational leadership, consultation, training, and research. She is an expert in the areas of organizational culture, leadership, and team dynamics. Linda is committed to building resilient work cultures that enhance employee engagement and productivity.

A Minnesota native, Linda received her doctorate in psychology at Clark University. Linda’s work on resilience has been published in various scholarly journals. She was an academic psychologist for 25 years before co-founding Marigold Associates, an organizational consultancy.

One of Linda’s commitments is to provide training and counseling on resilience and trauma to international aid workers who are living and working in fragile and hostile contexts. Linda enjoys travel, movies, books, skiing, and hiking. Linda is executive producer of the documentary, “Once There Was a War,” which examines the capacity of young people to flourish in Bosnia, Central Asia, and Iraq.

He enjoys taking on design challenges in a variety of problem spaces and loves impactful solutions capable of educating and altering behavior long after the experience has ended.

Prior to joining the Blink team, he worked with a startup focused on tackling waste disposal education as well as engaging in other freelance opportunities. Logan graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design.

When he’s not in the office you can usually find Logan bent over a piano trying to get his hands to play in unison, puzzling out a difficult rock climbing route, or playing the occasional video game.

Maia Rowan is a UX researcher at Blink focused on understanding how people engage with the world around them. She is driven to examine the human experience and apply this knowledge to help clients and practitioners improve their processes and outputs.

Maia has a background in design and research focused on digital products and services. She has held product and service design positions at Fjord, Connected Lab, and Bridgeable, working with major brands in consumer electronics, social media, and finance. She spent two years teaching design and 10 years as a facilitator building collaboration in teams. Maia holds a Master of Design from Emily Carr University, where she explored design's role in transforming fashion retail to be more sustainable.

To unwind, Maia enjoys designing and sewing clothing, experimenting with new recipes, and sipping coffee while people-watching in a local cafe.

Mark is the IT/Facilities Manager and our resident photographer. He is responsible for all of Blink's technology as well as our security.

Prior to joining Blink, Mark worked as a Photojournalist, Art Director for Getty Images, Technologist in various industries, and taught computer graphics and photography. You can see a collection of his photography work here.

Mark earned a Bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from Ohio State University. He is a global traveller and loves telling stories through pictures.

Matt Hemeyer is a director of client relations, responsible for account growth and delivery at Blink’s enterprise clients with a primary focus on Microsoft.

Matt has extensive experience selling interactive solutions to all varieties of Pacific Northwest technology companies – from startups to software behemoths. He is happiest working with clients over the long-term and helping them solve complex problems. He earned his Master’s in Irish Literature from Trinity College Dublin.

From Muncie, Indiana originally, Matt arrived in the Northwest after stints living in Korea and Ireland. He is in love with Seattle, fried chicken, and his girlfriend. He is a co-owner of a craft bitters company and would love to talk your ear off about cocktails.

Megan Ruhlach is a visual designer at Blink with a background in architecture and graphic design. She loves to use her knowledge of creating physical experiences to inform her approach for digital ones.

Prior to joining Blink, Megan worked as a designer for a few small startups in Seattle whose industries ranged from architecture to tech. Her work includes visual and UX design, prototyping, branding, interior design, renderings, and photography. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a degree in interior design.

In her spare time she enjoys playing volleyball, rock climbing, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, baking as if she is she is a contestant on the Great British Baking show, and entertaining her hound dog, Lucy.

Melanie Johnson is a host in Blink's Seattle studio and brings happiness to everyone who comes in our doors. She brings over a decade of experience in office administration, operations management, and customer service to this role. She will often be found with a smile on her face and a can-do attitude. Whether it’s welcoming clients or supporting the team, Melanie is dedicated to ensuring everyone has the best possible experience at Blink.

She has previously been an administrative/clinical assistant for a prosthetics and orthotics company, managed her own massage therapy business, and volunteered for multiple events benefitting the Seattle arts community over the last 10 years.

Outside of the office, Melanie has been known to hike and backpack all over the greater Seattle area and surrounding counties. She takes too many photos of her two cats Orion and Kali-ka, and her puppy, Seamus. She also spends time working for Burning Man and continues to volunteer locally.

Melissa Braxton is a UX Strategist who delights in applying a human-centered approach to designing services and interactive products, particularly within complex organizations and highly regulated environments.

Prior to joining Blink her research and design work focused on how human-centered design and agile software development practices can help make people’s interactions with government easier, and she has consulted with Federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, National Institutes of Health, National Forest Service, and the Federal Election Commission.

Melissa has a Bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology and an MS in Human Centered Design & Engineering. Melissa is also a PhD Candidate in Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington where she specialized in understanding and managing the intricacies of designing health- and safety-critical public services, such as national security and Veteran’s healthcare. When not busy being a Blinker, you can find Melissa dancing or writing and performing original music, often with her toddler on her hip.

Michael Harding

Principal UX Researcher

Michael Harding is a principal UX researcher at Blink and enjoys working with clients to uncover insights into their product’s end to end experiences, with a particular focus on hardware UX.

Michael comes to Blink with 13 years of experience in user experience research from Microsoft, including five years as a device lead with the Surface device team. During his time at Microsoft, he got to know Blink through partnerships Blink had with various Microsoft teams and in the end, was convinced to change his desk view for the opportunity to work with amazing clients from around the world.

Michael is originally from New England (Maine and Mass), where he spent his former life racing sailboats and playing on the coast, but has called Seattle home for 24 years now. He lives here with his wife, Gretchen, and two very active and demanding teenagers. Michael is always open to chatting about skiing, hiking, and cycling in the Northwest, travel, and also likes to play and listen to music. He enjoys it all but plays in a bluegrass band.

Michael Havran is Blink’s San Diego Studio Host. He manages the San Diego operations and facilities, organizes events and activities, and keeps the Blink culture alive and well.

Michael graduated with a B.A. in Communications from The University of Texas at San Antonio. He moved from San Antonio to San Diego straight out of college after falling in love with San Diego’s beauty and culture. Prior to Blink, he was an orthotic technician and worked in technology sales.

He loves gaming, movies, falling asleep to audiobooks, and baking. Much of his free time is dedicated to exploring Southern California looking for a new adventure with his husband and two dogs.

Mike Weinstein is a UX designer at the Blink Boston studio. He joined Blink with the Tectonic team, where he worked to create design systems for brands and digital experiences.

Before working at Blink, Mike spent time as a lead designer at several startups, an interactive designer for an advertising agency, and a freelancer. His work includes UX and visual design, front-end web development, prototyping, logo design, and illustration. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA with a degree in graphic design.

Outside of work Mike enjoys traveling, playing basketball, binge-watching Netflix series, and challenging himself with self-initiated design projects.

UX Researcher

Nichole Kim is a user researcher who is passionate about working with people and making their lives better through understanding not only what they do, but why and how they do it. She loves research because it allows her to answer big questions by asking smaller questions.

Prior to Blink, she worked in various industries, including biotechnology, education, and gaming as a user researcher. She also lived in Mongolia for six months, leading an academic research project focused on incorporating mobile technology and gamification elements into English language curriculum at public high schools. Nichole holds a Master’s degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor’s in psychology from Stanford University.

When Nichole’s not talking with research participants or planning her clients’ projects, you can find her frolicking in all forms of nature, checking when her favorite musicians are hitting up Seattle, and exploring new and hip brunch places with her fiancé.

Nicole Jarvis is a project manager at Blink. She develops specialized recruiting expertise within Blink to more effectively recruit users for research studies. Nicole is also responsible for the coordination of external recruiting partners.

Nicole graduated with a B.A. in public relations from Central Washington University. After graduating she moved to sunny San Diego, where she gained her skills and knowledge at a Market Research recruiting facility, Plaza Research.

In her spare time, she can be found cheering on her favorite sports teams, rocking out at a concert, or sipping on a vanilla latte at the local coffee shop.

Orville Esoy is a visual designer in the Blink San Diego office who is passionate about crafting the emotional layer of design. Orville has applied his skills with a multitude of established global enterprise companies and a variety of startups. These companies include Infobip, Manfrotto, New Relic, Appcelerator, Pivotal, The Clean Program, Classy and Crazy Egg.

Orville loves traveling to different parts of the world that displays autumn's full glory. Austria, Japan, and Colorado are some of his favorite fall vacation spots. Orville is also an avid cyclist who loves the history of the sport, specifically the Classic races, as well as cycling around San Diego's scenic backroads. Orville's dream is to open up a cafe-bike shop in Alaró Mallorca upon retiring.

Born in British Columbia, Rick’s involvements have taken him to Hong Kong, England, Germany, and now the USA. He holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge, UK, and has spent a lot of his life exploring the changing nature of corporate identity, leadership and the engagement of people in the workplace within a global context. It is the blend of deep knowledge and expertise, and broad life experience that shapes his practice. Rick consults and speaks on topics related to the changing nature of work and the workplace, organizational design, talent management, leadership development, culture assessment, and board development.

Rob Torres is a UX designer and has spent over twenty years designing award-winning user interfaces. He has worked with a broad range of businesses and has extensive experience developing design strategies that balance user needs with business objectives.

Before joining Blink, Rob spent the first decade of his career improving and evolving the user experience for online newspapers as Lead Designer for the Tribune Company and later as Creative Director for Knight-Ridder. After transitioning out of publishing, he held key design positions at startups and established companies in Silicon Valley. He recently moved back to Texas and is one of the founding members of Blink's Austin office.

In addition to a thirty-year love affair with skateboarding (ramps, parks, backyard pools), Rob spends his free time pursuing his passion for drawing, painting, and printmaking, as well as catching as much live music as he can in Austin.

Ronald Viernes is a visual designer at Blink and has a strong passion for coming up with elegant solutions to complex user-centered design problems.

Prior to Blink, Ronald graduated from the University of Washington Design program and landed his first job at a local agency, Hornall Anderson, designing brand identities and systems for clients such as Hewlett Packard, HTC, Quaker Oats, and Frito-Lay. Then he joined the first and original design consultancy, Teague where he worked on branded product design experiences for large Fortune 500 companies like Intel, Microsoft, and J.W. Marriott to name a few. His last stint was at Tectonic envisioning next-generation software experiences for clients such as Amazon, Microsoft, Rhapsody, and smaller start-ups.

Ronald is the proud owner of a lovable (but stubborn) Miniature Schnauzer, Drake Bugatti who sometimes gets to come into the office and cause trouble. He also moonlights as a volleyball coach for inner-city high schools and Kraken Volleyball Club, an elite junior volleyball organization that he helped start.

Roxane Neal is a UX researcher who for the past 12+ years has been providing user insight to inform design, employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Her projects span both B2B and consumer spaces, but she has a passion for enterprise UX.

Always rooting for the underdog, she is an empathetic advocate for those doing complex or high-pressure work. She earned a Master's in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington.

When she isn’t interviewing users, Roxane is likely scheming her next outdoor adventure, camping, hiking, backpacking, or cross-country skiing.

Ryan Kelly is UX designer who loves discovering, understanding, and solving complex business & human problems. He believes that deep understanding of purpose and context is the foundation of great design.

Before Blink, Ryan spent 5 years helping consumer technology brands understand and influence their customers’ journeys through custom research. In 2015, Ryan shifted his focus to digital design, graduating from UCSD Extension’s UX Design certificate program. He’s been happily designing extraordinary experiences ever since.

When he’s not designing beautiful software, Ryan can likely be found enjoying sunny San Diego by playing beach volleyball, biking, or running around with his dog, Roscoe.

Sara Keats is the marketing manager at Blink. She tells Blink's story to our clients, colleagues, and friends across channels.

Keats graduated from the BXA programs at Carnegie Mellon University before moving to Seattle in 2013. She has led marketing programs for the Nordic Heritage Museum, Encore Media Group, and City Arts magazine.

In her spare time, Keats is the director of dramaturgy for Umbrella Project, a Seattle-based new play development organization that she co-founded in 2015. She also loves to hike with her partner and their dog, Dziga, visit new countries, and read plays in one of Seattle’s many cozy cafes.

Sarah Alvarado is a UX research director in our Seattle studio. Her diverse experience working in technology startups, as well as enterprise companies, allows her to bring a unique and innovative perspective to her teams. In her most recent role, Sarah led foundational and evaluative research for large-scale service design projects where she worked closely with business stakeholders, designers, and developers.

With an educational background in design and an MBA, Sarah understands the importance of balancing business objectives and user needs to develop meaningful products and experiences. She applies strategic thinking to identify the right tools and approach for complex projects, ever-focusing on the goal to deliver value and make an impact.

Outside of work, Sarah loves to cuddle with her children, try new restaurants and explore the beauty of her new surroundings in the Pacific Northwest.

As a project manager, Sarah Miller is in charge of supporting project teams by removing roadblocks, monitoring and updating schedules, and tracking budgets. She owns the project's start and close process and supports the research and recruiting teams. Clients have included Amazon, Capital One, Microsoft, and Starbucks

Sarah joined Blink bringing a background in administrative support, event planning, and lean workplace organization. She graduated with a B.A. in public relations from Illinois State University before moving to Seattle in 2007. Prior to joining Blink, she worked for six years at Safeco Insurance as both an Executive Assistant to two Vice Presidents and as a Business Analyst.

In her free time, Sarah writes and takes photos for Rain or Shine Guides, a website focused on the best things to eat, do and see in the Northwest. Sarah also enjoys going on adventures with her husband, cooking and taking vacations to exotic, far-off destinations such as Thailand or Decatur, Illinois.

Sarah Wilson is a visual designer at Blink who works on both internal and external client projects, specializing in branding, web design, illustration, and layout.

After graduating from the University of Washington with her B.A. in media and communications, Sarah worked at a patent law firm for a few years before deciding to return back to school at Seattle Central Creative Academy to pursue her passion and receive her degree in graphic design.

Originally born in England, Sarah is keen to enjoy a proper cup of tea and biscuit whenever possible. Sarah comes from a family full of artists and musicians who have helped foster her creativity and intuitively-visual communication style. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking, gardening, hiking and painting in her studio at home.

Serena Down is a Blink project manager who brings her dedication to going the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly for clients. Before Blink, Serena was the Project Manager at LearnBIG, an e-learning company where she led projects for both academic and corporate clients from kickoff to delivery.

Serena’s background is in visual storytelling. She’s worked on international television productions for clients including the Discovery Channel, TLC and A&E, so she’s no stranger to fast-paced projects with hard deadlines. She holds a Masters in Communication from Stanford University, where she studied documentary film and earned the National Health Information Award and the Jerry Jenson Award for Journalism for her films. Serena also holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Washington.

Though she’s a lifelong bookworm, you can also find her out on the trails or biking the Seattle streets. She’s currently honing her skills at throwing a Frisbee worthy of her twelve-year-old and creating paper dolls for her six-year-old art director.

Seth Hill is a research director for our San Diego office. In this role, collaborating with stakeholders, he crafts user experience research methods with the goal of delivering insights that establish empathy and achieve value driven outcomes.

Seth's successful career in user experience spans almost two decades. He has led countless high-profile solutions that have resulted in great experiences for millions of end users. Notable companies that he spent time with are Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sony Electronics, BD Medical, Kyocera, Qualcomm, and DirecTV via Wind River.

When out of the office you'll find him enjoying time with his wife and kids or likely on a tennis court. He captains a USTA men’s tennis team and participates in various tournaments and leagues throughout the year.

Shanel Shack is Blink’s recruiter helping to continually garner and grow our culture by sourcing top talent.

Prior to Blink, Shanel worked with a creative staffing agency where she partnered with many Seattle-based companies in their hiring efforts. She loves connecting with talent and matching them with great opportunities.

When not at work, she enjoys heading to Mox Cafe to play board games with her husband, exploring Seattle’s new foodie hot spots, and playing co-ed soccer. Shanel is also obsessed with all-things true crime, so she is always excited to discuss the latest related Netflix release or true crime podcasts.

Shawn is an Administrative Supervisor for Insight Space, helping maintain a calm and positive work environment for both the administration and recruiters. Shawn helps project management oversee the recruitment of participants for multiple research studies and focuses his attention on assisting all who need assistance.

A recent graduate from the California State University of Monterey Bay, Shawn earned his BA in Communications with an emphasis on Journalism and Media Studies. During his time in Monterey, he helped run the award-winning OtterRealm Newspaper as a production designer and editor. He also worked part-time as an after-school program student teacher, educating youth on topics related to the mass media.

New to Washington, Shawn likes to spend his free time exploring the city and finding all that Seattle has to offer. On the weekends he enjoys creative hobbies from amateur photography, to drawing and painting. In the winter you can be sure to find him out in the mountains exploring new places to snowboard.

Shona Zhang is a Blink accountant and responsible for accounts payable and receivable. She has hands-on accounting experience under GAAP. She is proficient in bookkeeping, processing payroll, handling bank reconciliations, tracking business expenses, filing Canadian federal and provincial sales taxes, and preparing corporation registry documentation.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and an advanced diploma in Accounting from Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Stephanie Carlson is Blink’s resourcing manager. She is responsible for coordinating team members for each project as they come in. Her 15+ years of experience in various customer service roles comes in handy when approaching the dynamics of each project.

Prior to Blink, Stephanie has worked in marketing, social media, event management, and customer service training. She brings a wealth of knowledge in working with people and their various communication styles and personalities.

Stephanie was recently called a unicorn as she is a native to Seattle and is uniquely outgoing and personable. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her dog Molly, friends, and family. You can often find her in yoga studios, local coffee shops like Caffé Umbria, or outdoors.

Teresa Liu Park is a UX researcher who loves working collaboratively with clients to ask the right questions. She enjoys having a holistic approach to research and considering how the research fits into the bigger picture.

In her past life, Teresa studied engineering and worked in data analysis in the healthcare industry. Some of her work involved building business cases for corporate initiatives, giving her an appreciation for the intersection of business and analytics. Other projects with consumer-facing tools helped her discover a passion for the user, and so she followed that passion into the field of UX.

In her spare time, Teresa can often be found traveling to see family and friends, looking for delicious cheap eats, and trying to become more of a Seattleite by exploring the outdoors.

Tiffany Smith is a UX researcher led by a lifelong fascination with understanding what makes people tick. Her work is motivated by a passion for identifying patterns, solving problems, and creating meaningful experiences for others.

Prior to joining Blink, she made her first splash into the world of design research at Vulcan Inc. where she had the opportunity to study a number of fascinating, emerging technologies. She has over a decade of experience working in a wide range of service-oriented roles, including several years working as a marketer for various tech startups in the Seattle area. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Washington and is on track to complete her master’s degree in applied anthropology from the University of North Texas at the end of 2018.

Tiffany is a Midwestern-Texan hybrid that found her forever home in the Pacific Northwest several years ago. She is an active runner and cyclist that loves hiking and exploring the great outdoors. She is also a prolific consumer of coffee, chocolate, crossword puzzles, and Netflix, in no particular order. She adores all animals, especially her two dogs, and hopes to meet a baby elephant in the near future.

Tim is a UX Researcher who brings a unique set of skills and experiences to his work. He has over ten years of experience in various areas including user experience, technology, web and social media communications, project management, and customer service. Tim is passionate about practicing empathy and curiosity, uncovering insights, creating meaningful experiences, and utilizing technology to accomplish these things.

Tim holds a degree from Washington State University with an emphasis in Business, Communications, and Psychology. He also holds a User-Centered Design Certificate from the University of Washington. You can read about his passion for UX over at UX Pursuit.

He is from Kansas City and loves discovering the many perks of Seattle. In his free time, he enjoys being outside on a bike or a trail, listening to good music, and enjoying good food and drink with good people.

Tom Ham is a Creative Director with a passion for creating strong brands through consistency and signature experiences. He helps clients like Microsoft, Qualtrics, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation discover fresh new ways to express their brand through an impactful combination of interaction and visual design.

Prior to joining Blink, Tom worked on the envisioning team at Microsoft where he was focused on productivity tools for the enterprise. He holds a BFA in Design and Visual Communications from the University of Washington.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys exploring Seattle with his wife and two children.

Tommy is a research technician at Blink. He is responsible for managing the A/V needs of the lab spaces. His goal is to produce high-quality video content while providing exemplary IT support.

Prior to joining Blink, Tommy worked as an audio and lighting engineer for concerts, commencements, festivals, and corporate events.

Outside of Blink, Tommy enjoys hiking, playing soccer, jamming with friends on the guitar, and going on long walks with his dog Winston.

Tristan Plank is an interaction designer and has a background in psychology and a passion for design. During his career he has enjoyed performing research, creating killer designs, and being a jack-of-many-trades in the area of Human Center Design working for such clients as Farm Credit, Swedish Hospital, Microsoft, Fluke, and Starbucks.

Prior to joining Blink, Tristan worked on a variety of government, military, and commercial projects which included clients such as DARPA, the United States Army, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Cisco, Alion Science & Technology, and several local small businesses. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado and honed his user-centered design chops earning a Master’s degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington.

Zach Sexton is a UX researcher focused on uncovering key user insights in order to help inform design and development decisions.

Before joining Blink, Zach spent most of his time working towards a Bachelor’s in computer science and a Master’s in emerging media design and development at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. During his time in academia, he found his passion for UX by joining and leading various research projects centered on emerging technologies, mobile application development, and online gaming communities.

After finishing his master’s degree, he took the big leap and moved to Seattle. Outside of Blink, he can be found exploring new and unique hangouts around the city, playing games with friends and family, geeking out over the latest tech, or relaxing at home with his two cats Mako and Mango.

Zach Sharpe

Zach Sharpe

User Support Specialist

Zach Sharpe is the user support specialist at Blink and looks after the day-to-day IT needs of the office. He also supports the technology in the Blink research labs.

Zach went to UW Bothell and studied media and communication, focusing on how video games tell stories. Zach has worked for the UW Bothell IT department as a tier 1 helpdesk tech, and most recently for Computer Know-It-Alls as an IT specialist providing custom IT solutions for individuals and small- and medium-sized businesses. Zach is also the co-founder of an indie game development studio called Shizwoz LLC where he is the lead developer.

Passionate about all things tech, Zach spends his time making indie games and tinkering with raspberry pies. He can usually be found at a local hackathon/game jam/code day working on fun little weekend projects.
