Open house party a big success!

Thanks to everyone who attended last Thursday’s open house, gallery opening and speaker series event. It was a huge success, with over 300 people attending throughout the evening.

The wine and hors d’oeuvre flowed, as the evening kicked off with an artist reception showcasing the photography of Mark Gsellman.

This was followed by a fascinating presentation from our local weather celebrity, Cliff Mass on “Weather Prediction Technology of the Next Two Decades”.

ACT Theatre’s artistic director, Kurt Beattie wrapped up the night with a passionate talk called “Theatre as Consciousness”.

Throughout the evening we had people dancing in our Xbox Kinect lounge, set up in one of our three new usability labs. Eye tracking was going on in lab 2 with live streaming into the observation rooms on the other side of the wall.

The grand finale of the night was the sailboat race taking place on Elliot Bay with the orange sunset as the backdrop.

Stay tuned for more events like this several times a year. In combination with the Speaker Series, Blink plans to host seasonal art shows in the new “Blink Space”.

Below are a few photos from the event…
