ConveyUX 2015: Call for Proposals is Open!

In preparation for our third-annual conference, you are invited to submit a proposal to make a presentation. If you have attended the ConveyUX conference before, this is your opportunity to move to the front of the room. If you are new to ConveyUX, you’ll find an exciting atmosphere. Presenting a session at the conference provides you with rewarding professional exposure.

Since its inception in 2013, ConveyUX has grown significantly as a premiere Northwest gathering for UX practitioners. For the 2014 event, 325 attendees participated from a dozen countries. We sold out three weeks early. For 2015, we expect more than 400 attendees with three dozen presentations. And we’re moving—to a very spacious new venue in Seattle – the Grand Hyatt.

There are two opportunities:

Breakout Session presenter: Present a topic as part of our 45-minute breakout sessions. These sessions take place Thursday, Jan. 22 and Friday, Jan. 23. You will be expected to prepare a session that engages your peers with thought-provoking ideas and practical techniques.

Project Showcase presenter: Show off your work as part of the Project Showcase, which takes place Friday, Jan. 23. The Showcase is an informal exhibition of real-world projects. You will discuss and demonstrate your work with your peers as they visit your showcase space.

How to Propose a Session
Our proposal process is informal and easy—no forms! Send us a brief description of your topic and background. We’ll follow up with any questions we might have. The session duration for breakout sessions is 45 minutes. Just submit your proposal via email including the following information:

  • Your background and experience. Include links to relevant online work, previous presentations, and/or LinkedIn profile.
  • Topic or project title.
  • Topic or project description of no more than 100 words in length.
  • Several bullet points describing what attendees can expect to learn.

General interest areas include Managing & Development, Engagement & Interaction, and Content Strategy. We are interested in case studies of research, interaction design, visual design, usability testing, accessibility, collaborative techniques, and anything else that helps us become better at understanding our users and improving their experiences.

Compensation
Those presenting a breakout session topic receive complimentary registration to the conference. Project Showcase presenters receive a discounted registration to the event for just $295. You are responsible for your own travel expenses.

This is your opportunity to share the stage with some of the brightest lights in UX. Send me your proposal by September 15.
