Karen Clark Cole is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder of Blink UX. Karen is primarily focused on Blink's growth, strategic planning and culture.

Karen began her career studying Fine Arts in Vancouver, BC at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design. She holds a degree in Art History & Visual Arts from the University of Victoria and is a graduate of the Information Technology & Multimedia program from Capilano University, Vancouver. Karen also started a Ph.D. program in Values-Driven Leadership at the Benedictine University in 2015.

Through her work at Blink, Karen was a winner of the 2016 Enterprising Women of the Year award and she was a finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award in 2015. In 2016, Blink was listed on Forbes Magazine's Best 25 Small Companies in America list and has won the Puget Sound Business Journal's Washington's Fastest-Growing Private Companies award in 2015 and 2012, Seattle Business Magazine's Tech Impact Silver Award in 2015, The Women President's Organization's 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Led Companies Worldwide award in 2014, and was listed on Inc. Magazine's Top 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies in America list in 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012.

Karen is an active member and speaker for the International Leadership Association (ILA)(ILA), an active member in the Small Giants Community, and a board member for the World Trade Center. Karen is currently the Executive Director and President of the Board for the non-profit organization she founded in early 2014, Girls Can Do. Girls Can Do is an event series for girls with the mission to inspire a generation of Possibility Thinkers and ignite a vision for Equal Opportunity.

Karen currently writes a column for Forbes.com on the Entrepreneurs Channel and has been written about in Inc. Magazine, Puget Sound Business Journal, Geekwire Magazine, Seattle Business Magazine, Center for Values-Driven Leadership, St. Margaret's School, Chapter Be, and The Pacific Institute.

Karen was born and raised in Victoria, Canada, and she loves to ski, run, garden, kiteboard, and hang out with her amazing daughter.

Kelly Franznick

Kelly is the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) and Co-Founder of Blink UX. He focuses on the future of Blink’s tools, services, and methods while also working on unique project requirements. He is passionate about making our daily interactions with technology more innovative, intuitive, and rewarding.

While growing Blink from two to over sixty employees, he has worked with hundreds of clients, from tech-sector heavy hitters like Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, to startups, and non-profits. He enjoys working on cutting edge projects in the data visualization, healthcare, and the IT spaces. He feels lucky to have contributed to some of the largest and most successful product launches in history

Always eager to share his passion for design and technology with others, he volunteers his time as an instructor and external advisor for programs at Lake Washington Institute of Technology and the University of Washington. His work has been recognized with a number of awards including several IDSA IDEA awards for design excellence, and he has spoken on the topic of UX at the University of Washington, Convey UX and the Project Management Institute to name a few. In 2011, he was featured as “Geek of the Week” from Geek Wire Magazine.

In 2016, Blink made Forbes Magazine's Best Small Companies list and has won the Puget Sound Business Journal’s Washington’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies award in 2015 and 2012, Seattle Business Tech Impact Silver Award in 2015, and was listed on Inc. Randy Lieber

As CFO and Partner of the company, Randy oversees Blink’s finances and administration. He is in charge of the overall health and viability of the company, ensuring log term sustainability and profitability.

Randy has more than 30 years of accounting and finance experience, including 14 years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and later serving as the Chief Financial Officer of several public and private companies, including CellCyte Genetics Corporation and Ascentium Corporation. At Ascentium, Randy was a key member of its management team from its inception in 2001 through its dramatic growth period ending in 2008. Randy left Ascentium in 2008 to start an accounting consulting firm working with start-up technology companies.

Randy has a BS degree in accounting from Central Washington University and became a CPA in 1987. He is the treasurer of FEAT of Washington and is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Seattle Youth Bowling Association. He spends his free time coaching youth bowling and driving his daughters to local youth bowling tournaments.

John Dirks

John Dirks has been a UX research manager and user researcher for over 20 years. Joining Blink shortly after it was founded in 2000, John has been instrumental in growing the company's research practice to the highly capable team it is today. John has specialized in complex research engagements over the years, including multiphase field studies involving consumer electronics, auto technology, and, more recently, VR/AR systems. He has served as a consultant for a diverse set of clients, including Microsoft, the Allen Institute for Brain Science, Nike, HP, Amazon, Starbucks, the Seattle Seahawks, Arc'teryx, and F5 Networks. John has managed numerous international research studies, through which he has developed partnerships with top UX research firms in other countries.

As the head of UX research, John is excited about expanding Blink's research practice to other Blink office locations. He sees boundless opportunities to empower organizations with foundational and evaluative research insights so they can make better, evidence-based decisions about their products and services.

John earned a Master of Science from the University of Washington and a graduate certificate in human-centered design. When not at work, John enjoys reading, playing saxophone in a big band, and embarking on outdoor activities and adventures with his wife and two daughters.

Geoff Harrison

Geoff Harrison is a partner and the chief design officer at Blink. He has been instrumental in building a full-service user-centered design practice at Blink, uniting the firm’s research expertise with innovative design, prototyping, and development. This work relies on evidence-driven design strategies to help Blink’s combined teams create more desirable and useful products for our clients. He created a workshop on evidence-driven design, which he delivered at UX Week and Convey UX, and has also been a guest lecturer for the University of Washington’s Human Centered Design and Engineering program.

Prior to Blink, Geoff founded Eye Level, a design studio, and was the creative director at Modern Digital Seattle. He holds bachelor’s degrees in graphic design and mass media management from Miami University in Ohio and a graduate certificate in user-centered design from the University of Washington.

When not at work, he designs rockets, Lego forts, and scavenger hunts with his three boys and takes them skiing, hiking, or anything else that burns energy. He also enjoys cooking and finding great places to eat with his wife.

Linda Wagener, Blink’s Chief Culture Officer, has over 35 years of experience in organizational leadership, consultation, training, and research. She is an expert in the areas of organizational culture, leadership, and team dynamics. Linda is committed to building resilient work cultures that enhance employee engagement and productivity.

A Minnesota native, Linda received her doctorate in psychology at Clark University. Linda’s work on resilience has been published in various scholarly journals. She was an academic psychologist for 25 years before co-founding Marigold Associates, an organizational consultancy.

One of Linda’s commitments is to provide training and counseling on resilience and trauma to international aid workers who are living and working in fragile and hostile contexts. Linda enjoys travel, movies, books, skiing, and hiking. Linda is executive producer of the documentary, “Once There Was a War,” which examines the capacity of young people to flourish in Bosnia, Central Asia, and Iraq.

Bill Flora is an award-winning design director and strategist with more than 20 years of experience in leading teams and shipping product. When Bill isn’t designing the future, you can find him trying to plan another trip to Iceland with his family, waxing his skis, or learning a new chord on his banjo.

Dan Pepper works with our design teams and clients to craft engagements that solve complex problems with inspired design. He’s also responsible for positioning Blink’s services in ways that connect our core capabilities with new market opportunities.

His career spans over 30 years in creative service entrepreneurship. Most recently, he was a partner at Tectonic, where he led client engagement and managed business and finance. Dan has also owned a broadcast post-production studio and launched digital media sites, including legalforms.com, stockphotography.com, stockfootage.com, and soundeffects.com.

Dan lives in Seattle with his wife and two sons. When he's not at his boys’ soccer games, you’ll find him in the San Juan Islands hiking and fishing, restoring vintage cars, entertaining friends, or exploring roads less traveled.

David Westen

David Westen is Blink’s Chief Strategy Officer. An expert in user experience and digital strategy, David has designed, built and, marketed products for many of the world’s best-known brands. He now leads Blink’s strategy practice, which works with senior leaders to make smart, evidence-based decisions for growth, innovation, and change.

In 2010, David founded Redshift, an award-winning UX agency in San Francisco, whose clients included Google, Kaiser Permanente, T-Mobile, J.D. Power, Panasonic, and Western Union. Redshift became part of Blink in 2019.

Prior to Redshift, David co-founded Internet Learning Corporation, a VC-backed startup that earned numerous awards for creative, customized e-learning solutions. After leading the company to a successful acquisition in 2002, David served as CTO of the combined company.

David is a graduate of Stanford University. He has lived and worked in many great world cities around the world, including Singapore, Sydney, Kyoto, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and New York. He speaks fluent Turkish, Japanese, and English, and makes outstanding cocktails.

Alexi Glines is a Project Manager at Blink who loves working with clients and team members to solve problems. She especially enjoys finding ways to become more efficient and improve processes.

Prior to Blink, Alexi cut her teeth in project management working for a web development agency which specialized in e-commerce sites. She also worked in digital marketing managing omnichannel marketing projects for clients across industries, including Fortune 100 companies.

Outside of Blink, she enjoys baking (and is currently trying to perfect her sourdough loaf), going to concerts, road trips, and finding the best americano in town.

Ally Lucas is a UX researcher in Blink's San Francisco. Ally graduated with a B.A. in English from California State University, Sacramento and immediately entered the world of startups. Prior to Blink, she helped develop digital products through QA, data analysis, and application support.

Outside of Blink, Ally can be found reading a book, road-tripping around northern California, or chasing her dog Larry around Golden Gate Park.

As a visual designer at Blink’s San Francisco office, Andrew crafts modern digital experiences that make people’s lives both easier and more enjoyable.

His breadth of experience ranges from creating next-gen interfaces for mobile and web, developing product direction and strategy, offering brand guidance, as well as producing interactive prototypes and motion studies. He has helped design products for companies such as Visa, Samsung, Microsoft, and T-Mobile.

Before having lived in the Bay Area, he grew up in San Marcos, CA and received his BFA in Graphic Design & Marketing with a minor in Computer Science from California State University, San Bernardino. He now lives in San Francisco, CA where he and his boyfriend binge trash TV with their Instagram-“famous” cat. Meow

Anne Vande Creek is a seasoned and accomplished leader in client services, business development, and strategy in design services across industry verticals. Anne has over 20 years of experience in creative and strategic design organizations supporting the technology industry and leading consumer brands. She is recognized for her leadership across a broad range of disciplines and for her success in determining strategies, teams, and approaches to account management.

Most recently, Anne has been involved in digital transformation, developing approaches and processes for the reimagining of complex systems, applications, and customer and user experiences in all phases of the product lifecycle for healthcare, finance, technology, retail, IoT, AR/VR, and emerging technologies.

Anne’s areas of expertise include business development; client and account services; strategic planning; process and approach development; user research; UX framework, design systems, and design management; complex systems design strategy; and new product design and development.

Avian is one of the first faces to say hello when you visit us at Blink headquarters. With a deep interest in people and their stories, she enjoys being the first touchpoint of your experience at our Seattle office.

Prior to a pursuit in design, her passion was channeled into an early career with nonprofits that focused on empowering disadvantaged youth to become grassroots leaders in their communities. An insatiable sense of curiosity has led the latter half of her career through real estate development, e-commerce, and ballroom training, to a name a few.

Her hobbies tend to change with the seasons, but nowadays she spends her time with traveling with friends to eat unusual foods, improving her jiu jitsu flow, training in Latin ballroom, and DJing late into the wee hours.

Benjamin Shown heads up Blink’s Boston office in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As design director at Blink, he leads multidisciplinary UX teams tackling projects focused on product envisioning, dynamic design systems, and brand expressed as software with clients including Amazon, HBO, Microsoft, and NASA.

Ben joined Blink in 2018 as part of an acquisition of Tectonic, an experience design studio, where Ben was a creative director for four years. Previously, he worked on future design concepts at Microsoft’s Envisioning Lab and as an exhibit designer at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle.

Ben loves collaboration, heady problems, Murphy beds, grids, typography, unity, and variety. He is an alum of UW’s visual communication design graduate program and currently lives in Somerville with his wife and two adorable clients (kids), 4-year-old Percy and 1-year-old Della.

Brent Summers is an award-winning marketer and strategist with more than 15 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams in increasing brand awareness, driving business growth, and delivering innovative new products and services to increase customer engagement. As director of marketing at Blink, Brent makes evidenced-based recommendations related to market segments, marketing technology, and go-to-market messaging for Blink and our incredible portfolio of clients.

Before joining Blink, Brent led digital projects for clients in many sectors, including B2B SaaS, travel and tourism, professional sports, and education. His work has been recognized by CommArts, HubSpot, Mashable, and Forbes.

Friday night is date night for him and his husband. On the weekends, Brent teaches his Goldendoodle, Midas, new tricks. ENFJ.

Brett Campbell is the head of client relations for Blink. He’s responsible for building the business through strategic client relationships.

With 18 years of consulting experience with global companies, Brett has developed a focus on solutions to help clients build trusting, authentic relationships with their customers. Brett is typically accountable for seeing those programs through to completion, measuring the business impact, and providing continued justification for investments in customer experience improvements.

Brett’s experience spans various business initiatives, including customer and user experience, product planning and execution, business information management and analytics, organizational transformation, social collaboration, and various technology platforms.

Brett's approach to business fosters innovation and experimentation. His focus on listening and collaboration helps him build long-lasting, trusted relationships with clients, such as those with Ford, Amway, Humana, and Microsoft. His attitude is easily described as "Let’s make it happen!"

In Brett’s downtime, he enjoys time with his wife, Bambi, and two kids, Colby and Casey. You can also frequently find him out on Puget Sound fishing.

Brian Ledford is a project manager at Blink, ensuring our projects stay on track and succeed. With extensive organizational and practical business experience, Brian is adept at delivering large- and small-scale software projects on time, with quality.

Brian joined Blink in 2018, following program management roles at Tectonic and Microsoft, where he worked on various Xbox projects. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time in Port Townsend and listening to music.

Brigitt Rains is a highly skilled and outgoing head of operations with more than 17 years of experience in a range of industries. Brigitt’s work features a wide selection of project experience, from web, mobile, graphic, game design, and development to custom SharePoint applications, video, and print production. Clients include Disney, Nickelodeon, Fremantle Media, MTV, WB, Viacom, and CBC, along with Mattel, Fisher-Price, Microsoft, Xbox, and the Clinton Foundation. She has spoken on the topic of UX and project management at the Hive design and technology conference.

Operations wrangler by day, musician by night, she’s usually preparing for her next gig at the local honky-tonk juke joint. She’s also fanatic about vintage motorcycles and snowboarding. In her spare time, you’ll find her at the monthly motorcycle rallies or high on top of the mountain searching for her next steepest or deepest adventure.

Brittany Johnson is a UX researcher at Blink who is passionate about people and technology. Her goal is to improve people’s lives by delivering insights that help create human-centered products, services, and experiences.

Brittany has been in UX for the past decade. Most recently, she worked in the education industry to help teams build personalized learning and career pathways for an international audience.

Outside of work you might catch Brittany on a run, at the dog beach with her two pups, adventuring with her wife and daughter, or trying out the new local coffee and kombucha shops.

Byron Baker

Byron Baker is a UX director with 15 years of experience consulting in the areas of design, user experience, research, and product development. He has consulted for American Express, Abbott Laboratories, Eli Lilly, Microsoft, BAE Systems, FedEx, Fujitsu, Danaher, Chevron, and others.

He has presented at several conferences on the benefits of UX design and research and was a guest lecturer and part-time faculty member at the iSchool department at the University of Washington. He holds a BFA, with a focus on photography and visual communication, from the University of Washington.

Byron is a self-acknowledged adrenaline junkie and is raising two more in his likeness. When not holding down his desk chair, he can be found running, jumping, spinning, and flipping in the snow, water, and streets surrounding Seattle.

Caryn Arredondo is a UX designer at Blink San Francisco. She enjoys solving complex problems for users and handcrafting random stuff such as silkscreen posters just for fun.

She grew up in Mexico and moved to the United States to study visual design. Prior to working at Blink, she worked in advertising and design for various firms in Denver and London. After arriving in San Francisco, she added UX/UI design to her design palette.

A traveler at heart, she now lives and hikes in the Redwood Hills of Oakland, CA, with her freckly Aussie dog Mishka and her son Ander.

Chris Mueller is a UX designer who loves solving complex problems just as much as he loves making things that are utterly pointless.

He grew up in Scottsdale, AZ and studied Computer Science at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. After a few years in the wild, he realized he was more interested in making cool stuff than analyzing algorithms, so he pivoted to design with a master's in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon. Before Blink, Chris was leading design and research projects at NASA and Redshift Digital.

Outside of work, you can find Chris at a show, in the woodshop, or getting his heart broken by the Arizona Cardinals.

Christen is a visual designer in Blink's Boston studio. With over fourteen years of experience in visual design, brand strategy, and art direction, Christen helps deliver innovative, world-class experiences.

Previous to Blink, Christen worked at several advertising agencies around Boston, where she had the opportunity to supervise and contribute to hundreds of projects ranging from an AR experience for Celebrity Cruise Lines, to a gamified customer engagement experience for Acuvue Lenses. She has also led the redesigns for several digital experiences, including projects for BIC, Google for Education, Panera Bread (?), Royal Caribbean, and Beth Israel Hospital.

In her free time, Christen enjoys practicing yoga, reading comics in coffee shops, going to concerts, and playing guitar. She lives in Somerville, MA with her husband and cat, Ridley Scott.

As an interaction designer, Claudia Haon strives to understand how people interact with technology and designs experiences that make these interactions more meaningful, joyful, and productive. She loves to work with clients to define business and user goals and to determine how to best achieve them. She is enthralled by user-centered design because it melds her love of psychology with her drive to solve problems.

Claudia has over 15 years of design experience working with clients in a wide variety of sectors, including manufacturing, technology development, music production, and finance. She has a B.A. in psychology and postgraduate certificates in both graphic design and user experience design.

When not at work, Claudia is most likely thinking about food or eating, singing, or doing something fun out in the mountains or on a lake.

Damon Vessem is an interaction designer and has 15-plus years of experience in design and usability. Before moving to the US in December 2005, he was an interaction designer for a user experience consultancy in the Netherlands, working for clients such as ING, Vedior Europe, Delta Lloyd Insurance, KPN Telecom, @Home Internet, and the Rotterdam port authorities. In Seattle, he helped Alaska Airlines improve conversion and loyalty on alaskaair.com, including the acclaimed Award Finder.

Damon has a Masters degree in Industrial Design, with a specialization in User Interface Design, from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He also is a member of the Puget Sound SigChi.

Darshana Tuladhar

Darshana Tuladhar

UX Researcher

Darshana Tuladhar is a User Researcher with a curiosity about human behavior and cognition. This led her to pursue a graduate degree in Human Behavioral Neuroscience from Cornell University, and one in Cognitive Psychology from University of Pittsburgh. During her academic training, she studied individuals with Autism and memory formation and learning within individuals with Parkinson’s disease. She was fascinated by how and why children with Autism interacted with technology. This inspired her to marry her interests in human behavior in an applied setting and pursue a career in usability testing and research.

In 2015, Darshana spoke on the subject of ASMR at SxSW Interactive and is currently studying the way humans interact with artificial intelligence using a lifelike robotic dinosaur.

Other interests besides human behavior, the brain, and human-computer interactions include partaking in Taco Tuesdays, root beer, birds, salsa dancing, trying to play the violin, and origami.

Diana Cheng is the Head of Research at Blink, San Francisco. She manages a team of talented researchers and strategists. She enjoys collaborating closely with team members and leaders across disciplines to scope engagements, match appropriate methods to goals, and ensure project success.

Prior to Blink, she held design, research, strategy and innovation roles for such companies as Google, Panasonic, and Jump Associates. Diana has a BA from UC Berkeley in Political Science and Art. She received her Masters from the IIT Institute of Design in Chicago, which teaches ethnography and other social science methods as part of the human-centered design process.

Outside of work, she is a regular contributor to the Design Thinking program at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and enjoys mentoring future researchers and designers. When not channeling the voice of the user, Diana can often be found eating ice cream and sipping matcha.

As director of Insight Space and a partner of Blink, Donna Glosser has led the qualitative recruiting division of Blink since 2013. She is well-versed in managing a variety of qualitative methods: focus groups, ethnographic studies, taste tests, in-depth interviewing, online research, and product placement. She has over 30 years of experience in operations and sales in the marketing research industry.

Donna is very active in the research community having held board positions for both the Marketing Research Association as well as Puget Sound Research Forum.

One of her proudest accomplishments in recent years has been hosting international college students. Her favorite aspects of hosting include helping the students improve their English, learning about their cultures and foods, introducing them to Seattle, and forming lifelong relationships. You can usually find Donna at her gym by 5:30 a.m. each weekday morning to start her day off right.

Emilie Harris is a front-end developer with a passion for customers and building friendly web interfaces. Her background as an account manager and her education in art have given her a unique perspective for solving problems as a developer and a deep appreciation for a customer-centric approach and user empathy.

Her specialties include ensuring cross-browser/device compatibility, responsive web design, implementing interactive interfaces, the design of application architecture, and developing single-page applications.

Prior to Blink, Emilie worked on e-commerce sites and internal tooling for Bargreen Ellingson and Brooks Running. She attended General Assembly’s Web Development Immersive course and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Portland State University.

When not working on things for the web, Emilie works on mixed-media art projects; experiments combining tech and art; and hangs out with her husband, cat, and dog.

Eric Durr is a visual designer and has spent the last 10 years sharpening his skills in interaction, information, and visual design. He has done work for a variety of clients, including Amazon, Mastercard, NASA, Nike, Cisco, United Way, and Moen. His breadth of work includes mobile apps, desktop software, branding, infographics and B2C marketing. Eric graduated from Antonelli College in Cincinnati and also studied at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle.

Eric spent two years abroad traveling through Asia and Australasia with his wife and has no lack of stories or photos to share. Outside of the office, you will find Eric spending time with his son and cycling the city enjoying the bounty of wonderful microbrews in and around Seattle.

Eric Gomez is a UX developer in the Blink San Diego studio. He is a UX designer and front-end developer who loves being a bridge between two different worlds of product development. Eric is at home creating wireframes and prototypes as he is debugging front-end code or creating his own CSS frameworks.

Prior to joining Blink, Eric was a UX developer in various industries, including three years spent building digital products for the state of Colorado.

When not in the office, Eric is hanging with his wife and two young boys, creating experimental electronic music, mountain biking, perfecting his pour-over coffee technique, and trying new craft beer.

Gargi Patel is a project manager at Insight Space, where she oversees the recruitment of participants for multiple research studies. She holds a B.S. in recording industry management and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University, where she first developed an interest in market research.

Geoff Harrison is a partner and the chief design officer at Blink. He has been instrumental in building a full-service user-centered design practice at Blink, uniting the firm’s research expertise with innovative design, prototyping, and development. This work relies on evidence-driven design strategies to help Blink’s combined teams create more desirable and useful products for our clients. He created a workshop on evidence-driven design, which he delivered at UX Week and Convey UX, and has also been a guest lecturer for the University of Washington’s Human Centered Design and Engineering program.

Prior to Blink, Geoff founded Eye Level, a design studio, and was the creative director at Modern Digital Seattle. He holds bachelor’s degrees in graphic design and mass media management from Miami University in Ohio and a graduate certificate in user-centered design from the University of Washington.

When not at work, he designs rockets, Lego forts, and scavenger hunts with his three boys and takes them skiing, hiking, or anything else that burns energy. He also enjoys cooking and finding great places to eat with his wife.

Greg previously worked as a television assistant editor, most notably on A&E’s “Hoarders,” and he does video work from time to time for Blink. He received his B.A. from Whitman College, where he majored in art and minored in Japanese. Greg also holds a master’s degree from the University of Washington's Human Centered Design and Engineering department.

Grey has over thirty years of accounting and finance experience, including four years at Arthur Andersen. Grey has worked in numerous industries including defense contracting, financial services, government auditing, and professional services.

Grey has a BA degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, an MBA from California State University, Northridge and became a CPA in 1997. Outside of work, Grey likes to spend time running, traveling and exploring Washington with his wife, Jeannie.

Heidi Adkisson is a Blink partner and principal UX designer. She has been leading complex projects since Blink's inception, delivering strategy and design for hundreds of clients, including ISB, Garden City Group, NASA, Moen, and Providence.

Heidi has over 20 years of software development experience working with large-scale system implementations. Her experience includes requirements analysis and interactive design, working with established companies, such as AT&T Wireless and Microsoft.

Heidi has a Masters in Human Centered Design and Engineering and an MBA from the University of Washington. She has a B.A. in Anthropology from Colorado State University and an Associate of Applied Arts in Web/Multimedia Design from the Art Institute of Seattle. Heidi is a member of ACM SIGCHI and Puget Sound SIGCHI.

Holly Prouty is a user researcher and multifaceted creative who believes that disruptive ideas are the product of unique connections powered by inquiry. She works to reveal creative opportunities by breaking down silos among industries, functions, and skill sets.

Prior to joining Blink, Holly was bundled up in the Midwest. Her studies at the University of Michigan led her to a career at the intersection of humanity, design, and business. Holly leverages an industrial design background to bridge the gap between physical and digital experiences. She has led research projects resulting in the development of consumer and commercial products spanning industry segments from home goods to consumer electronics, medical devices, and industrial equipment.

Holly is a doodler and a dabbler who spends her time searching for whimsies, good Brussels sprouts, and board game opponents. She goes the extra mile(s) to reach the best view, and when she gets there, she revels in it and then tries to capture it. Irene Barber leads complex, workflow-driven interaction design projects and brings over a decade of professional design experience to our Interaction Design team. She discovered her passion for the user-centered design process while working as a graphic designer and has pursued UX consulting work ever since. UX fulfills her inquisitive nature by allowing her to learn about, and help solve problems for, a variety of industries and environments, as well as the diverse people within them. She holds a B.S. in informatics from the University of Washington where her capstone team was a semi-finalist in the Washington Health Alliance’s “Be the Change” competition. She continues to be interested in how technology can influence and facilitate social change.

Irene was born and raised here in the Pacific Northwest, and she enjoys taking day trips out into all it has to offer. A UXer by day and musician by night, you can catch Irene performing out in the local music scene with one of her musical projects.

Jake has his BFA in graphic design from Central Washington University, after pursuing an education in film and video. He has spent his time since working on digital and physical products, animations, and experiences of all kinds working with brands such as KEXP, Skype, Vans, Amazon, and Microsoft Azure, Office, & Education.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Jake spends his days biking through Seattle with his toy poodle, Louie, brewing strong coffee, baking for his friends and family, or jet-setting with his wife.

Joanna was previously an account manager for a local technology company and, prior to that, worked in sales and customer service for a well-known Seattle-based retail company.

Joe Welinske is Blink's Accessibility Director and also the Program Manager for Blink's annual conference ConveyUX.

As Accessibility Director, Joe is charged with bringing innovation and training about supporting disabilities into every client project and to every staff member. Joe has taught accessibility at the University of Washington and he is the co-organizer of the Seattle Area Accessibility & Inclusive Design meetup. From the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), Joe is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).

Since 2013, ConveyUX has been Seattle's annual conference for user experience professionals. Joe Welinske has been the Program Manager since its inception. Joe leads the speaker selection process and ensures an enjoyable educational and networking experience for the attendees.

In addition to his work at Blink, Joe teaches at the University of Washington. Joe holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.S. in adult instructional management from Loyola University.

John Dirks has been a UX research manager and user researcher for over 20 years. Joining Blink shortly after it was founded in 2000, John has been instrumental in growing the company's research practice to the highly capable team it is today. John has specialized in complex research engagements over the years, including multiphase field studies involving consumer electronics, auto technology, and, more recently, VR/AR systems. He has served as a consultant for a diverse set of clients, including Microsoft, the Allen Institute for Brain Science, Nike, HP, Amazon, Starbucks, the Seattle Seahawks, Arc'teryx, and F5 Networks. John has managed numerous international research studies, through which he has developed partnerships with top UX research firms in other countries.

As the head of UX research, John is excited about expanding Blink's research practice to other Blink office locations. He sees boundless opportunities to empower organizations with foundational and evaluative research insights so they can make better, evidence-based decisions about their products and services.

John earned a Master of Science from the University of Washington and a graduate certificate in human-centered design. When not at work, John enjoys reading, playing saxophone in a big band, and embarking on outdoor activities and adventures with his wife and two daughters.

As an interaction designer, Jordan Baker is addicted to problem-solving. She has always been driven by a desire to understand the world down to the minutia. Growing up she had her mind set on a hundred different professions, but she found her passion in design.

Throughout her career, she has worked for The Northwest Organization for Animal Help, Fluke and REI. Jordan loves to explore the different facets of design, which has resulted in her diverse assortment of work that spans print, web, mobile and motion graphics. She graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and from the Digital Design program at

Vancouver Film School with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Digital Design with a focus on user experience design.

When her head is not down solving design problems, Jordan can be found supporting Seattle sports teams, playing outside or enjoying the local food scene.

Over his 16-year career, Jorge has continually pushed himself to learn new industries and techniques. He began his career as a graphic designer in the motorsports industry and eventually shifted into a role as a product designer for high-tech bags and other gear for motorcycle enthusiasts. In 2009 Jorge made a strategic decision to learn UX and digital design. He has experience designing with a variety of CMS and eCommerce platforms.

Karen began her career studying Fine Arts in Vancouver, BC at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design. She holds a degree in Art History & Visual Arts from the University of Victoria and is a graduate of the Information Technology & Multimedia program from Capilano University, Vancouver. Karen also started a Ph.D. program in Values-Driven Leadership at the Benedictine University in 2015.

Through her work at Blink, Karen was a winner of the 2016 Enterprising Women of the Year award and she was a finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award in 2015. In 2016, Blink was listed on Forbes Magazine's Best 25 Small Companies in America list and has won the Puget Sound Business Journal's Washington's Fastest-Growing Private Companies award in 2015 and 2012, Seattle Business Magazine's Tech Impact Silver Award in 2015, The Women President's Organization's 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Led Companies Worldwide award in 2014, and was listed on Inc. While growing Blink from two to over sixty employees, he has worked with hundreds of clients, from tech-sector heavy hitters like Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, to startups, and non-profits. He enjoys working on cutting edge projects in the data visualization, healthcare, and the IT spaces. He feels lucky to have contributed to some of the largest and most successful product launches in history

Always eager to share his passion for design and technology with others, he volunteers his time as an instructor and external advisor for programs at Lake Washington Institute of Technology and the University of Washington. His work has been recognized with a number of awards including several IDSA IDEA awards for design excellence, and he has spoken on the topic of UX at the University of Washington, Convey UX and the Project Management Institute to name a few. A southern California native, Kevin graduated from Vanguard University with a B.A. in Psychology. After college, Kevin worked as a behavioral consultant with Autism Intervention and Resources. Kevin moved into the UX field because loves helping people solve their problems.

His hobbies include photography and fatherhood. Kevin enjoys the outdoors and can often be found exploring hiking trails around San Diego on the weekend with his family.

Kristina is a graduate from the University of Missouri where she studied strategic communications and Business. After university, she spent time volunteering in Kenya and backpacking around the globe. She attributes her ability to empathize and connect with people of all backgrounds to this time spent abroad.

In her spare time, Kristina writes for Rain or Shine Guides, a local travel website, and can usually be found reading, planning her next trip, or eating at one of the many incredible restaurants Seattle has to offer.

Laura’s career spans almost 30 years across photography, radio, printed publication, product development, and user experience design. Laura specializes in getting high-quality interactive experiences designed and out the door while keeping teams energized and having fun. She is passionate about every project she delivers and is always up for a challenge.

Laura’s early career in Chicago was characterized by training corporate executives to use the computer by day and pioneering new forms of digital media for the underground music scene by night. When not working, Laura enjoys keeping up with pop culture, eating and making delicious food, and going on adventures with her family.

Lauren holds a master's degree in interaction design from Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden and a bachelor degree in Industrial Design from Carleton University in Canada. Before Blink, her professional endeavors included conceptualizing new products for the future of productivity, developing the creation framework for an interactive storytelling experience, and designing installations for a new science center.

She attended Georgia Southern University before moving to Seattle in 2003 and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington. After sixteen years in Seattle and ten years at Blink, Lauren relocated to Austin, Texas in 2018 and heads up business development for the Blink Austin office.

She has an amazing husband, two sons and two dogs that keep her on her toes, loves collecting old books, playing tennis, and has a weakness for home-cooked Southern food.

Leili Slutz is a user researcher passionate about the interplay between people, information, and technology. She has worked as a researcher on projects spanning enterprise software, public libraries and open data, and the role of primary care physicians in genomic medicine. Leili loves exploring the many different worlds that research brings her into.

Leili holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington’s iSchool, as well as a Graduate Certificate in User Centered Design from the UW’s Human Centered Design and Engineering program.

On weekends you can find Leili curled up with a good book, out on a trail in the beautiful PNW, or volunteering with Open Seattle on a civic technology project.

Before coming to Blink, Leslie studied Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley. The interdisciplinary nature of her field led her to pursue a career in UX, where she gets to wear many hats and collaborate with people of different backgrounds. She discovered a passion for Research which she channels into the work she does for a variety of clients.

Linda Wagener, Blink’s Chief Culture Officer, has over 35 years of experience in organizational leadership, consultation, training, and research. She is an expert in the areas of organizational culture, leadership, and team dynamics. Linda is committed to building resilient work cultures that enhance employee engagement and productivity.

A Minnesota native, Linda received her doctorate in psychology at Clark University. Linda’s work on resilience has been published in various scholarly journals. She was an academic psychologist for 25 years before co-founding Marigold Associates, an organizational consultancy.

One of Linda’s commitments is to provide training and counseling on resilience and trauma to international aid workers who are living and working in fragile and hostile contexts. Linda enjoys travel, movies, books, skiing, and hiking. Linda is executive producer of the documentary, “Once There Was a War,” which examines the capacity of young people to flourish in Bosnia, Central Asia, and Iraq.

Logan Quinn is an interaction designer at Blink. He is obsessed with understanding complex problems and searching for their solutions. He enjoys taking on design challenges in a variety of problem spaces and loves impactful solutions capable of educating and altering behavior long after the experience has ended.

Prior to joining the Blink team, he worked with a startup focused on tackling waste disposal education as well as engaging in other freelance opportunities. Logan graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design.

When he’s not in the office you can usually find Logan bent over a piano trying to get his hands to play in unison, puzzling out a difficult rock climbing route, or playing the occasional video game.

Lynsey Lacher is the studio manager in Blink’s Seattle studio. She is passionate about hospitality, workplace design, and building authentic workplace culture. Lynsey oversees Blink’s facilities, curates events, and ensures everyone who walks through Blink’s doors has a fantastic experience.

Lynsey graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR with a B.A. in English literature and studio art. Her background in English and fine art allows her to think analytically and creatively. Lynsey’s senior thesis oil paintings were conceptually rooted in the themes and ideas she explored in her English literature coursework.

Prior to Blink, Lynsey worked at Catalyst Workplace Activation, a certified Herman Miller dealership, for over five years. Lynsey practically grew up at Catalyst as her father was one of its co-founders over 35 years ago. Most recently, Lynsey was the Client Services Coordinator for Catalyst’s downtown location, The Loft. There she hosted and facilitated events for industry influencers and partners, customers and prospective clients.

When not at Blink, Lynsey can be found in a yoga studio, outside hiking, or somewhere near the water. A native Seattleite, she is particularity fond of Seattle’s incredible, waterfront sunsets.

Maia Rowan is a UX researcher at Blink focused on understanding how people engage with the world around them. She is driven to examine the human experience and apply this knowledge to help clients and practitioners improve their processes and outputs.

Maia has a background in design and research focused on digital products and services. She has held product and service design positions at Fjord, Connected Lab, and Bridgeable, working with major brands in consumer electronics, social media, and finance. She spent two years teaching design and 10 years as a facilitator building collaboration in teams. Maia holds a Master of Design from Emily Carr University, where she explored design's role in transforming fashion retail to be more sustainable.

To unwind, Maia enjoys designing and sewing clothing, experimenting with new recipes, and sipping coffee while people-watching in a local cafe.

Marissa Devine leads the resourcing discipline at Blink. She focuses on the strategic assembly of optimal teams to ensure successful projects for our clients. With a long history in project management for the design industry, Marissa brings the operational rigor and commitment to creative culture needed to facilitate effective process development.

Marissa’s background in humanities and project management has fostered a profound passion for understanding the nature of belief, communication and team dynamics as well as a desire to develop innovative systems to manage such behaviors in the workplace. She has academic degrees in philosophy, religion, English literature, and project management, PMP certification as well as more than a decade of experience leading projects for design giants such as Teague. She is also a regular lecturer at the School of Visual Concepts in Project Management for Design.

When not delving deep into the world of operations at Blink, Marissa can be found kayaking around Lake Washington, practicing yoga, attending the opera or dancing to her favorite T-Rex record.

Mark is the IT/Facilities Manager and our resident photographer. He is responsible for all of Blink's technology as well as our security.

Prior to joining Blink, Mark worked as a Photojournalist, Art Director for Getty Images, Technologist in various industries, and taught computer graphics and photography. You can see a collection of his photography work here.

Mark earned a Bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from Ohio State University. He is a global traveller and loves telling stories through pictures.

Matt Hemeyer is the VP of Blink Embedded, our talent placement service at Blink. He is also a director of client relations, responsible for account growth and delivery at Blink’s enterprise clients with a primary focus on Microsoft.

Matt has extensive experience selling interactive solutions to all varieties of Pacific Northwest technology companies – from startups to software behemoths. He is happiest working with clients over the long-term and helping them solve complex problems. He earned his Master’s in Irish Literature from Trinity College Dublin.

From Muncie, Indiana originally, Matt arrived in the Northwest after stints living in Korea and Ireland. He is in love with Seattle, fried chicken, and his girlfriend. He is a co-owner of a craft bitters company and would love to talk your ear off about cocktails.

Matt Kissick is a UX Designer at Blink. He loves a good design challenge and an even better design system. From print to products to architecture, Matt likes to surround himself with all things design.

Matt received his BDes in Industrial Design at OCAD University in Toronto, Canada. He spent 5 years as a technician/trainer with Apple where his interest in user-focused, digital design was sparked. Matt has since worked with companies across the United States and Canada including T-Mobile, Kaiser Permanente and Western Union.

Originally from Ottawa, Matt still finds himself at the (only) hockey rink most weeks. When he's not stopping pucks he loves making music, finding the next great view or watching Netflix until it asks if he's actually still watching.

Megan Ruhlach is a visual designer at Blink with a background in architecture and graphic design. She loves to use her knowledge of creating physical experiences to inform her approach for digital ones.

Prior to joining Blink, Megan worked as a designer for a few small startups in Seattle whose industries ranged from architecture to tech. Her work includes visual and UX design, prototyping, branding, interior design, renderings, and photography. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a degree in interior design.

In her spare time she enjoys playing volleyball, rock climbing, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, baking as if she is she is a contestant on the Great British Baking show, and entertaining her hound dog, Lucy.

Melanie Johnson is a Project Coordinator in Blink's Seattle studio. She brings over a decade of experience in office administration, operations management, and customer service to this role. She will often be found with a smile on her face and a can-do attitude. Whether it’s welcoming clients or supporting the team, Melanie is dedicated to ensuring everyone has the best possible experience at Blink.

She has previously been an administrative/clinical assistant for a prosthetics and orthotics company, managed her own massage therapy business, and volunteered for multiple events benefitting the Seattle arts community over the last 10 years.

Outside of the office, Melanie has been known to hike and backpack all over the greater Seattle area and surrounding counties. She takes too many photos of her two cats Orion and Kali-ka, and her puppy, Seamus. She also spends time working for Burning Man and continues to volunteer locally.

Michael Harding is a principal UX researcher at Blink and enjoys working with clients to uncover insights into their product’s end to end experiences, with a particular focus on hardware UX.

Michael comes to Blink with 13 years of experience in user experience research from Microsoft, including five years as a device lead with the Surface device team. During his time at Microsoft, he got to know Blink through partnerships Blink had with various Microsoft teams and in the end, was convinced to change his desk view for the opportunity to work with amazing clients from around the world.

Michael is originally from New England (Maine and Mass), where he spent his former life racing sailboats and playing on the coast, but has called Seattle home for 24 years now. He lives here with his wife, Gretchen, and two very active and demanding teenagers. Michael is always open to chatting about skiing, hiking, and cycling in the Northwest, travel, and also likes to play and listen to music. He enjoys it all but plays in a bluegrass band.

Michael Havran is Blink’s San Diego Studio Manager. He manages the San Diego operations and facilities, organizes events and activities, and keeps the Blink culture alive and well.

Michael graduated with a B.A. in Communications from The University of Texas at San Antonio. He moved from San Antonio to San Diego straight out of college after falling in love with San Diego’s beauty and culture. Prior to Blink, he was an orthotic technician and worked in technology sales.

He loves gaming, movies, and falling asleep to audiobooks. Much of his free time is dedicated to exploring Southern California looking for a new adventure with his husband and two dogs.

Before working at Blink, Mike spent time as a lead designer at several startups, an interactive designer for an advertising agency, and a freelancer. His work includes UX and visual design, front-end web development, prototyping, logo design, and illustration. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA with a degree in graphic design.

Outside of work Mike enjoys traveling, playing basketball, binge-watching Netflix series, and challenging himself with self-initiated design projects.

Nichole Kim is a user researcher who is passionate about working with people and making their lives better through understanding not only what they do, but why and how they do it. She loves research because it allows her to answer big questions by asking smaller questions.

Prior to Blink, she worked in various industries, including biotechnology, education, and gaming as a user researcher. She also lived in Mongolia for six months, leading an academic research project focused on incorporating mobile technology and gamification elements into English language curriculum at public high schools. Nichole holds a Master’s degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor’s in psychology from Stanford University.

When Nichole’s not talking with research participants or planning her clients’ projects, you can find her frolicking in all forms of nature, checking when her favorite musicians are hitting up Seattle, and exploring new and hip brunch places with her fiancé.

Peter Stern is a UX director focused on design. He has spent the past 17 years designing experiences across a variety of industries from software and platform development to entertainment. His previous clients include Microsoft, Amazon, Intel, MTV, Jimmy Buffett, and Steven Spielberg. As a design director at Microsoft, he gained a deep appreciation for a customer-centric approach to designing experiences for a diverse, global audience. His specialties include UX strategy, design management, end-to-end user experience, and product innovation.

Peter is a former faculty member of the Advanced Technology Department for The American Film Institute (AFI) in Hollywood, CA and was one of the first digital video instructors at Art Center in Pasadena, CA.

When he's not at work Peter likes welding, boat building, carpentry, and spending time with his wife and three girls... preferably on the water. He makes a mean margarita and his favorite color is #f7941d.

Petra Riedl is a data coordinator for Insight Space; diligently working to provide staff and management with information for potential recruits. She is enthusiastic about her position; sorting through criteria to weave out the best possible candidates for the numerous jobs and projects the company takes on.

Starting off as a recruiter for Northwest Insights in 2013, Petra has discovered her fascination with market research. Her organizational skills, attention to detail and dedication have brought her a long way from the position she once had; she looks forward to learning and exploring deeper into the complexity of user research, experience and so forth.

She is inspired by and has a deep respect for many fine arts; specifically, but not limited to culinary, music, dance and visual. You can find her during her downtime trying to incorporate her inspirations into her daily life as much as possible while caring for her two boys. Oh, and she loves the outdoors!

Quba Michalski is the director of innovation at Blink. His primary role (and his passion in life) is exploring emerging technologies and finding new, exciting ways to use them. Whether it's virtual and augmented reality, robotics, drones, lasers, artificial intelligence, or some top-secret thing we can't yet talk about, Quba is probably using it to build a new prototype this very moment.

Prior to joining Blink, Quba has worked as a Creative Director and Technologist at Autofuss, Bot&Dolly, Google, Imago and his own studio: QubaVR. His professional experience starts with the early days of desktop publishing and follows the evolution of computer-aided design through visual, interactive and motion design, film and visual effects, animation, real-time computer graphics, and XR.

Quba is inspired by learning new things. Not just technologies — he's fascinated by culture, science, art, nature — you name it. He considers a day without new knowledge a day wasted. His inspiration and creative process include relaxing nature walks, feeding wild critters that visit his garden, industrial and k-pop music, as well as lots of late-night video game sessions.

As CFO and Partner of the company, Randy oversees Blink’s finances and administration. He is in charge of the overall health and viability of the company, ensuring log term sustainability and profitability.

Randy has more than 30 years of accounting and finance experience, including 14 years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and later serving as the Chief Financial Officer of several public and private companies, including CellCyte Genetics Corporation and Ascentium Corporation. At Ascentium, Randy was a key member of its management team from its inception in 2001 through its dramatic growth period ending in 2008. Randy left Ascentium in 2008 to start an accounting consulting firm working with start-up technology companies.

Randy has a BS degree in accounting from Central Washington University and became a CPA in 1987. He is the treasurer of FEAT of Washington and is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Seattle Youth Bowling Association. He spends his free time coaching youth bowling and driving his daughters to local youth bowling tournaments.

Rob Torres is a UX designer and has spent over twenty years designing award-winning user interfaces. He has worked with a broad range of businesses and has extensive experience developing design strategies that balance user needs with business objectives.

Before joining Blink, Rob spent the first decade of his career improving and evolving the user experience for online newspapers as Lead Designer for the Tribune Company and later as Creative Director for Knight-Ridder. After transitioning out of publishing, he held key design positions at startups and established companies in Silicon Valley. He recently moved back to Texas and is one of the founding members of Blink's Austin office.

In addition to a thirty-year love affair with skateboarding (ramps, parks, backyard pools), Rob spends his free time pursuing his passion for drawing, painting, and printmaking, as well as catching as much live music as he can in Austin.

Sara Keats is the marketing manager at Blink. She tells Blink's story to our clients, colleagues, and friends across channels.

Keats graduated from the BXA programs at Carnegie Mellon University before moving to Seattle in 2013. She has led marketing programs for the Nordic Heritage Museum, Encore Media Group, and City Arts magazine.

In her spare time, Keats is the director of dramaturgy for Umbrella Project, a Seattle-based new play development organization that she co-founded in 2015. She also loves to hike with her partner and their dog, Dziga, visit new countries, and read plays in one of Seattle’s many cozy cafes.

Sarah Alvarado is a UX research director in our Seattle studio. Her diverse experience working in technology startups, as well as enterprise companies, allows her to bring a unique and innovative perspective to her teams. In her most recent role, Sarah led foundational and evaluative research for large-scale service design projects where she worked closely with business stakeholders, designers, and developers.

With an educational background in design and an MBA, Sarah understands the importance of balancing business objectives and user needs to develop meaningful products and experiences. She applies strategic thinking to identify the right tools and approach for complex projects, ever-focusing on the goal to deliver value and make an impact.

Outside of work, Sarah loves to cuddle with her children, try new restaurants and explore the beauty of her new surroundings in the Pacific Northwest.

As a project manager, Sarah Miller is in charge of supporting project teams by removing roadblocks, monitoring and updating schedules, and tracking budgets. She owns the project's start and close process and supports the research and recruiting teams. Clients have included Amazon, Capital One, Microsoft, and Starbucks

Sarah joined Blink bringing a background in administrative support, event planning, and lean workplace organization. She graduated with a B.A. in public relations from Illinois State University before moving to Seattle in 2007. Prior to joining Blink, she worked for six years at Safeco Insurance as both an Executive Assistant to two Vice Presidents and as a Business Analyst.

In her free time, Sarah writes and takes photos for Rain or Shine Guides, a website focused on the best things to eat, do and see in the Northwest. Sarah also enjoys going on adventures with her husband, cooking and taking vacations to exotic, far-off destinations such as Thailand or Decatur, Illinois.

After graduating from the University of Washington with her B.A. in media and communications, Sarah worked at a patent law firm for a few years before deciding to return back to school at Seattle Central Creative Academy to pursue her passion and receive her degree in graphic design.

Originally born in England, Sarah is keen to enjoy a proper cup of tea and biscuit whenever possible. Sarah comes from a family full of artists and musicians who have helped foster her creativity and intuitively-visual communication style. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking, gardening, hiking and painting in her studio at home.

Sasha Klein is the director of engineering at Blink San Francisco. Sasha and his team work to translate design into digital reality, building interactive prototypes, frontend web sites, and full-stack web and mobile applications for a range of clients.

Pre-Blink, Sasha worked at ed-tech startup Bloc, where he both helped build out the core learning tools and ran the web development course. He has also tried his hand at founding two startups, an app for building community around local meat sales and a tool for aggregating and sharing social travel recommendations and bundling them into interactive shareable itineraries. In what feels like a prior life, Sasha college-counseled and taught psychology and French, in English, to high school students in China.

When not staring at computer screens, Sasha likes group cooking, group eating, compiling reading lists, thinking about exercising, and cornering friends in lengthy discussions about political philosophy, economics, and other things he doesn't understand.

Savannah Ostrowski is a front end engineer at Blink in Seattle. She is passionate about the intersection of design and engineering, and loves to take a human-centered approach to translating digital designs into pixel perfect products.

Prior to Blink, Savannah worked as a software engineer at both startups and big tech whose primary focus was geospatial technologies. Her work has included full-stack development, data engineering, and user experience prototyping and research. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Geomatics, and is currently in part-time pursuit of her master’s in Human-Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Washington.

In her spare time, Savannah enjoys cooking elaborate meals on weekday nights, hiking in the Pacific Northwest, traveling as far and as often as she can with her husband, or trying to meet her annual reading goal.

Scott Lambridis is a Design Director at BLINK. He helps ensure a high standard of excellence in all UX work in the SF studio, manages and mentors a small team of designers, and guides design strategy on key accounts. He also helps support and grow the studio's UX practice, defining the processes, tools, and best-practices to maintain a strong design culture.

Prior to Blink, Scott built a UX team and practice at Eveo, where he helped design and deliver dozens of mobile and desktop applications for doctors, patients, and healthcare reps. Scott grew up in New York and earned a degree in neurobiology from the University of Virginia, and has extensive experience applying design thinking to healthcare, including work with Kaiser Permanente, Humana, Genentech, and many more. He loves complex problems, and has worked in a wide range of creative industries, providing leadership on projects through cooperation, communication, organization, judgment and imagination. This has consistently resulted in award-winning solutions, and long-term relationships.

Outside of Blink, Scott is also an award-winning novelist and short-story writer, with an MFA from San Francisco State University, and has published stories in Amazon's Day One, the Chicago Review, and other journals. He also owns a farm with his wife and daughter in the Tahoe foothills with 400 olive trees, and would be delighted to share some fresh-pressed extra virgin olive oil with anyone who wants!

Serena Down is a Blink project manager who brings her dedication to going the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly for clients. Before Blink, Serena was the Project Manager at LearnBIG, an e-learning company where she led projects for both academic and corporate clients from kickoff to delivery.

Serena’s background is in visual storytelling. She’s worked on international television productions for clients including the Discovery Channel, TLC and A&E, so she’s no stranger to fast-paced projects with hard deadlines. She holds a Masters in Communication from Stanford University, where she studied documentary film and earned the National Health Information Award for Journalism for her film. Serena also holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Washington.

Though she’s a lifelong bookworm, you can also find her out on the trails or biking the Seattle streets. She’s currently honing her skills at throwing a Frisbee worthy of her twelve-year-old and creating paper dolls for her six-year-old art director.

When not at work, she enjoys heading to Mox Cafe to play board games with her husband, exploring Seattle’s new foodie hot spots, and playing co-ed soccer. Shona Zhang is a Blink accountant and responsible for accounts payable and receivable. She has hands-on accounting experience under GAAP. She is proficient in bookkeeping, processing payroll, handling bank reconciliations, tracking business expenses, filing Canadian federal and provincial sales taxes, and preparing corporation registry documentation.

Siri has been conducting research on human behavior in one form or another for more than two decades. She is deeply fascinated with the details of how human beings interact with and make sense of the world around them. Her drive to translate those details into insights with real impacts led her to transition from academic research to UX. At Blink, she has conducted and led foundational and evaluative research projects for clients such as NASA, Amazon, Microsoft, and Sonos. She has a particular interest in conversational and multimodal interfaces and a passion for making them more intuitive by following principles of natural human interaction.

Outside of work, Siri enjoys dancing, being in the sun, growing aromatic and/or edible plants, watching her dogs play, and spending time with her little family.

Stewart helps bring design strategy to life through the medium of video. He comes to Blink with 15 years of experience as a strategist and filmmaker, working with clients including Google, Symantec, Western Union, Kaiser Permanente, and T-Mobile. Before joining Blink, he was a founding member of Redshift Digital in San Francisco.

Stewart graduated from Stanford University before attending the USC School of Cinema-Television.

In his spare time, Stewart loves to play tennis and explore in VR. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and 2-year-old daughter, Iona.

Sylvain is a UX researcher in San Francisco. He loves meeting research participants to learn more about a specific problem, topic or industry, and how to positively impact these.

Before Blink, Sylvain spent many years in several different roles at Logitech, climbing the quality engineering ladder before managing wide-scale beta tests for consumer electronics and IoT devices. This was where he discovered his consumer-advocate side, and embarked onto the captivating path of UX research. In an even more distant life, he was a chef in several different restaurants in Switzerland, where he was born.

Outside work, you'll find him researching the next place he'd like to visit, binge consuming TV shows or his latest favorite musician, petting random dogs, perfecting his tiramisu recipe, and exploring San Francisco's nightlife.

Tasha Doerschel is a project manager for Insight Space, the qualitative research recruiting division of Blink. She ensures that Insight Space projects go smoothly for clients, researchers, and participants.

Tasha graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in sociology and worked for Seattle Parks and Recreation for twenty years before relocating to Austin. She went back to school and earned a degree in hospitality and tourism, which she uses today as a freelance travel agent.

Outside of Blink, Tasha is an avid hiker and beer enthusiast. She is involved with the Victory Brew Hiking Club and is developing a non-profit organization that takes youth on therapeutic hikes. Tasha is also involved in the music community, volunteering with the Melodic Caring Project. A dedicated Seattle Seahawks season ticket holder, outside of work, Tasha can be found at games or enjoying the outdoors.

Teresa Liu Park is a UX researcher who loves working collaboratively with clients to ask the right questions. She enjoys having a holistic approach to research and considering how the research fits into the bigger picture.

In her past life, Teresa studied engineering and worked in data analysis in the healthcare industry. Some of her work involved building business cases for corporate initiatives, giving her an appreciation for the intersection of business and analytics. Other projects with consumer-facing tools helped her discover a passion for the user, and so she followed that passion into the field of UX.

In her spare time, Teresa can often be found traveling to see family and friends, looking for delicious cheap eats, and trying to become more of a Seattleite by exploring the outdoors.

Tiffany Smith is a UX researcher led by a lifelong fascination with understanding what makes people tick. Her work is motivated by a passion for identifying patterns, solving problems, and creating meaningful experiences for others.

She has a diverse background that includes over a decade of experience working in a broad range of disciplines including digital marketing, consumer insights, and customer success. Her passion for crafting thoughtful, holistic solutions to problems eventually led her to graduate school at the University of North Texas, where she received training in the practical application of anthropological research techniques to problems in business, technology, and design. Prior to attending UNT, she earned her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Washington.

Tiffany is a Midwestern-Texan hybrid that found her forever home in the Pacific Northwest many years ago. She is an active runner, cyclist, and prolific consumer of coffee, chocolate, crossword puzzles, and Netflix, in no particular order. She adores all animals, especially her two dogs, and when time allows, she can often be found exploring the great outdoors here in the PNW.

Tim is a UX Researcher who brings a unique set of skills and experiences to his work. He has over ten years of experience in various areas including user experience, technology, web and social media communications, project management, and customer service. Tim is passionate about practicing empathy and curiosity, uncovering insights, creating meaningful experiences, and utilizing technology to accomplish these things.

Tim holds a degree from Washington State University with an emphasis in Business, Communications, and Psychology. He also holds a User-Centered Design Certificate from the University of Washington. You can read about his passion for UX over at UX Pursuit.

He is from Kansas City and loves discovering the many perks of Seattle. In his free time, he enjoys being outside on a bike or a trail, listening to good music, and enjoying good food and drink with good people.

Head of Research & Partner

Tom Satwicz is a research director and partner at Blink. He has been researching interaction and technology use in homes, schools, workplaces, and beyond since the year 2000. Tom’s research experience spans understanding how people use consumer devices, websites, and apps to the usability of server software.

In 2006, he graduated from the Ph.D. program in Learning Sciences at the University of Washington and was previously a faculty member in the University of Georgia’s College of Education. There he conducted ethnographic studies of how young people learn to use digital media and how technology is integrated into educational settings.

Tommy is a research technician at Blink. He is responsible for managing the A/V needs of the lab spaces. His goal is to produce high-quality video content while providing exemplary IT support.

Prior to joining Blink, Tommy worked as an audio and lighting engineer for concerts, commencements, festivals, and corporate events.

Outside of Blink, Tommy enjoys hiking, playing soccer, jamming with friends on the guitar, and going on long walks with his dog Winston.

Tristan Plank is an interaction designer and has a background in psychology and a passion for design. During his career he has enjoyed performing research, creating killer designs, and being a jack-of-many-trades in the area of Human Center Design working for such clients as Farm Credit, Swedish Hospital, Microsoft, Fluke, and Starbucks.

Prior to joining Blink, Tristan worked on a variety of government, military, and commercial projects which included clients such as DARPA, the United States Army, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Cisco, Alion Science & Technology, and several local small businesses. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado and honed his user-centered design chops earning a Master’s degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington.

Zach Sexton is a UX researcher focused on uncovering key user insights in order to help inform design and development decisions.

Before joining Blink, Zach spent most of his time working towards a Bachelor’s in computer science and a Master’s in emerging media design and development at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. During his time in academia, he found his passion for UX by joining and leading various research projects centered on emerging technologies, mobile application development, and online gaming communities.

After finishing his master’s degree, he took the big leap and moved to Seattle. Outside of Blink, he can be found exploring new and unique hangouts around the city, playing games with friends and family, geeking out over the latest tech, or relaxing at home with his two cats Mako and Mango.

Zach Sharpe

Zach Sharpe

IT Generalist

Zach Sharpe is the user support specialist at Blink and looks after the day-to-day IT needs of the office. He also supports the technology in the Blink research labs.

Zach went to UW Bothell and studied media and communication, focusing on how video games tell stories. Zach has worked for the UW Bothell IT department as a tier 1 helpdesk tech, and most recently for Computer Know-It-Alls as an IT specialist providing custom IT solutions for individuals and small- and medium-sized businesses. Zach is also the co-founder of an indie game development studio called Shizwoz LLC where he is the lead developer.

Passionate about all things tech, Zach spends his time making indie games and tinkering with raspberry pies. He can usually be found at a local hackathon/game jam/code day working on fun little weekend projects.
